[0.7.5] Game failed to save properly

Since the update, i started a new game on idylic valley and now none of the automatic saves are saving, it just comes up with save file failed. So i tried to save manually and that failed to, which could prove to be irksome. Love your game though and your active support.

We apologize for the inconvenience caused by the recent issues in v0.7.5. We’ll be rolling out a hotfix imminently.

For those affected, you should have no issues with pre-v0.7.5 saves, but any saves already affected by rocks/fish getting erased will unfortunately still be missing rocks and/or fish.

After the update to 75 my current game could not auto or manual save. Error message “Game failed to save properly. The failed file…”. When I tried to load the “FrontierSaveFailded.sav” file I got totally black screen. I will try tomorrow and see if it loads. Also I will load my last game and see if I can save the file, restarting the computer solves a lot of problems.

Well the game seems to save ok now, but I lost my rocks so I guess I will restart the map and see if that brings them back. A shame though as i had a nice start going lol.

edit: Hmm…I spoke too soon. Started a new map and can’t save properly again.

edit again: just seen a small Steam update so here we go again with another restart

Re-rolled the map 2 times. Started a village → auto-save failed / manual save failed. Reloaded the game (without exiting to desktop) from the failed save → auto-save works / manual save works → stones disappeared. Exited to desktop → reloaded the working save → no stones. Exited to desktop → reloaded the failed save → no stones.

I’m trying to restarting my map, and see if stones remain.

There was a 8mb Steam update 30 minutes ago. I have started a completely new map and it seems to be saving properly now.

I’m testing on v0.7.5b.

Restarted the map, saved, loaded the save.
Stone seems to remain.

I’m really enjoying this game and am praying it doesn’t get broken and alienate people. It’s very new though and so far I think the Dev responses have been great. I bet the “office” gets pretty tense around issues like this, and i guess my part is to be as patient as possible

Right…back to trying to stop my villagers starving…

I made another map after the initial error and haven’t seen it since! Hope it hasn’t caused anyone’s hair to combust haha. My autosaves and loads are working properly.

Just wanted to report my old save is loading and re-saving just fine. Thanks so much for the patch and quick turnaround time! Impressive!

I’m Having the same issue. 26yrs into my best seed so far and I’m too scared to close it. Is there a way to fix this without losing our progress?

There are patches to the 0.75 update. which are installed (by steam) once you close the game.
I couldn’t save neither. last autosave was from year 2 and I was at year 15. tried to save manually but only got the pop up that save failed.

Upon shutting down, installing the patches to 0.75 I was able to load the last save which brought me to year 15 despite earlier messages (before I closed the game) that save failed.
