Yes they do. Matriarch is -% debuff and Black star is Flat “n” debuff.
Of the two types only -% debuff Stacks with itself. So Assassin’s Mark and Black Matriarch and Curse of Frailty all stack with each other. And these three stack with Black Star flat debuff. And all these will stack with simple % reduced resist from either Essence of Ch’ton or Open Hand of Mercy (simple % debuff also doesn’t stack with itself). The latter debuff is optional and is applied last in both positive or negative resistance values but is good enough.
Thanks for the warning and tips. Gonna do exactly what you said. It should be ok, I actually like doing stuff like this if there’s even a slight chance for a pot of gold at the end of it all. Already been getting some Solael-Sect pants but none of them have been that great. Got one with huge amount of different resists. I plan to track all the legendaries/decent blue items I get from running the Broken Hills path while killing the beast elites just to see how much stuff I get before decent green MI-pants drop. Also been recording the last five minutes of my gameplay with Shadowplay in case I get the dream pants so I can put some sort of reaction vid to youtube.
Sure it’s good. But what’s to stop you from using a good MI ring if you have one?
You can use something like Cornley with good Resists (Witchblade already has poison covered which is great) +of attack/readiness/alacrity/rifthound
Or if you got resist’s covered you can even go Crushing Cornley + of attack/readiness/alacrity/rifthound (or of Vitality/Potency)
You have a lot more chances for a decent Cornley than Gollu’s. And the innate attak speed is more DPS and life to you via life steal I am assuming you have from Black star or anything in your weapon.
Edit: Didn’t see that you wrote about not having a good MI. The above examples are still good if you ever get one similar. As far as legendary rings go I cannot think of anyhting other than Open Hand of Mercy, Lifegiver or a second Matriarch for this build.
Also you can look into epics. Some have had interesting changes but I don’t know all of them. Try to get a look at Ring of Valiance or Empowered Goliath Signet. Perhaps they have had some good changes
Thanks again for this. Since I got pretty nice Solael-Sect resistance-pants, I’ve been now spicing my farming route with Cronley for his ring. Also noticed that my new weapon isn’t a Bonescythe, but a Bonecleaver instead, so been checking out the Blood Grove-merchant during my runs too.
Cheers. If you want a good Bonscythe don’t be afraid to variate the farm route. Secret shop is good but you can confidently try Mountain Deeps and farm the dark Trolls there for variation. I got a Tyrant’s Bonescythe of Alacrity there on Veteran difficulty with some character…the irony. MI drops like these have been increased in a recent patch and they drop quite often.
Lol, I had actually forgotten about the Mountain Deeps. Gonna add it to my route and hope for the best. Love this thread, lots of great info for a very nice build.
Dreeg’s sect with good resists and some life on them could replace Barbaros maybe.
I Don’t have the Warborn Set. As far as Offense goes, Warborn does much more damage than Markovian and does it fast. The gavel is fast and the set has attack speed bonus and attack speed proc when completed. You can also wear Siegebreaker with Warborn getting not only the +1 skills but also 20 phys resist. With Siegebreaker, aspect of the Guardian, Oleron devo, equip, you can easily get ~ 45%phys resist so it’s very tanky too.
Markovian is good too don’t get me wrong. that proc it has is amazing at it also does very good damage. But I see Warborn as a very good competitor.
Completed the warborn set today, and as far as i tested its better than Markovian for Witchblade, you have more dps and survavibility is at same level.
i will post a video with warborn 100-150 gladiator clear if some people are interested.
Last point is i’am wondering why Crate designed a new set to be near the same gameplay/build as Markovian?
Well, I am now incredibly confused. Got this character to ultimate, walked into Valoran, and Valoran wiped the floor with it through 85% lightning resist.
I tanked Valoran with far squishier characters (and I can fall asleep in the middle of an army of elites with this one), did the patch change something? Do his attacks ignore shields?
you need overcap lightning resist against him or he will crush you, i dont know the exact value of his debuff but something like ~50 overcap seems enough.
