There is no bug here, man…the cadence dps counter calculates an average over three strikes: main hand - off hand - main hand (x cadence multiplier). The only way dps could remain the same is if the 2 weapons you have equiped have exactly identical stats.
The dual wield line shines when you stack +% pierce damage, have nice swords with high armor piercing, high attack speed AND you get to the execution WPS in the nighblade tree.
Ok I read the thread but I still don’t understand it.
In my case, when I equip one weapon the DPS is higher than with two. But in the damage per hit tab, it shows that with two weapons the damage per hit is greater, also the attack speed is faster. So how can the DPS be lower??
I don’t use exactly Cadence, but the Psionic Touch ability from a mod that works the same.
Hey I was using PT too, and it only works on the main hand… You will have more procs while DW because of the speed, but it will only use the main hand… The dev told me this, and probably won’t change it
In my case I was playing Demolitionist / Dream… and I switched to fire strike from Demolitionist… My dps is waaay higher now ^^
Hmm ok but I still don’t understand why that results in lower DPS.^^
When you equip only 1 weapon, PT will only use the main hand anway (because there is only 1 weapon), so even if you add a second weapon and PT doesn’t work on it, you should gain the slight damage increase from its base damage? I mean what exactly causes it to make less damage?
I checked ingame and no matter if dual wield or not, every 4th strike is a PT hit.
Even if Zolhan’s only hits with one weapon it still works like your normal WPS even in DW Blademasters right? i.e it still adds on to the existing default attack modifier right? (provided cadence isn’t the default attack modifier)
Yea it ads up the %weapon damage to fire strike %weapon damage for example. For the fact that it hits with only one weapon it kind of compensates with more % weapon damage if more skills are invested. On the downside you probably don’t get dot’s applied from your off-hand for example…can’t have everything, not for lack of trying
