[1.0.0.4] Tri-element Saboteur 2.0 - A (mostly) craftable build. 15sec madqueen etc

Okay so after doing the Crucible trick for new chars, I have a few questions:

  1. Is my rifle/shotgun supposed to be really slow at killing enemies? Or is that not what I’m supposed to be using? I’m using fireblast and canister but I have to mix it up because of Energy costs
  2. Where do stat points go?

1- Maybe try some ectoplasm on rings/amulet for energy issues until you get the Legion firestarters

2- All in physique (except maybe some points in spirit for meeting gear requirements)

Awesome, thank you! And I thought of one more!

When I hit 15 and I move to the new components, what weapon should I be using? A flintlock and an offhand? The guide isn’t very specific. It just says a 1h + offhand. But what offhands are there for ranged?

I think I had some dagger and offhand when I moved to level 15.

It doesn’t matter what you use, whether ranged or melee. Just whatever will boost your fire damage. When doing crucible, make sure to collect your reward after the 10 waves each time. Sell items to the vendor and load up on spirit potions. You’ll be chugging them a lot, but you’ll make more money.

This character was my first one to do the crucible trick up to 10 devotion points. This is where my character sat at the end of it, except for the 4 items in the bottom right of the stash (I pulled them from shared stash). But I entered the character into crucicble at level 1. Everything he’s using was found in there. All money was from there as well as all of the aether crystals, shrapnel, dynamite, seal, etc.

The gear I chose was +fire damage, + resist, + energy regen, + health, etc. I’d go through teh stuff after each reward collection. Figure out what was useful and sell the rest (I filtered out normal gear and only did magic+).

Oh good that’s exactly what I was doing! Except it’s going to take me longer because, like an idiot, I died the first time on wave 10. So I got to level 8 but didn’t get the Tributes. So I’ll probably be 19 or 20 when I get 10 devotion lol

Question for those in the thread:

What are the thoughts on Shadowspark Hood? You’d be sacrificing resists, health, and armor, and the helm’s passive, but would gain +1 nightblade, a bit of fire damage, and attack speed.

http://gracefuldusk.appspot.com/items/1057-Shadowspark-Hood

I presume the loss of dps from the Justicar Helm’s passive bonus would be too much to overcome. But was curious if anyone has used the SS Hood. I currently have full Justicar set, but my guy is only level 71 at the moment, so can’t compare just yet.

Got my saboteur to 85 some days ago, been having fun.

I suppose annihilation would be upgrade over ulzuins pyroclasm, and I’m thinking of crafting one now that the recipe dropped.

The Shadowspark Hood is nice, but as you said, the loss of flat Fire Damage will hurt. Not to speak of the awesome Burning Justice proc.
On top of that, the Hood provides no resistances at all. The +AS is nice though.

The flat Fire Damage is really good, but Ulzuin’s Pyroclasm proc is superior to it, I think. Never used the Relic though; feel free to prove me wrong.

Its pretty expensive craft so I haven’t done it yet. Have to craft another ulzuins pyroclasm first to have a backup, and mine doesn’t have very good completion bonus anyway…

lol you had the same thought process as I did.

Now that I finally hit level 75, equipped legplates of valor, mark of divinity, and essence of beronath, the loss of poison resist is killing me. At 74, I had Blood Sigil and Hellforged plates. I didn’t fully account for the 50ish percent drop in chaos resist switching those two out. So I’m trying to tweak things around, but at the moment, I’m stuck with about 50% aether, poison and 60% resist, while all others are maxed.

So Shar’Zul is dropping me. I’m fully kitted, except for diff legs. 83 Fire resist and chaos is 36 (with MoD) and 59 (with Blood Sigil). I dropped a Bloodbound Ointment on Blood Sigil giving both resists 80+ and the bugger tore me a new one (Ultimate). I havent tried the Ointment on the lower CR that comes with MoD. DPS with MoD loaded and buffs on is 56.7k. Any tips, guys? I’m gonna have to go on the game to afford the keys soon…

Shar’Zul has 100% Fire Resistance, so he can be tricky. You should deskill Whirling Death and bring Execution down to about 6/8. Put one point into Hellfire Mine, rest into Thermite Mine. Put an Imbued Silver into one of your Weapons and constantly Flashbang him. If that doesn’t do the trick, try putting a Haunted Steel into you other Weapon. Would decrease DPS, but in favor you have more ADCTH.

Since Explosive Strike deals AOE Damage in melee now, I was thinking of abandoning Whirling Death completely for myself. But I don’t play my Sabo that often anymore. Would end up in a DPS increase, I guess.

Edit: Tested build w/o WD and found it dealing more damage. I put the points into AQC 8/8 and Thermite Mine for farming.

Updated GrimCalcs:

Thanks Jag. How does the 1 point in Hellfire mine help though? Isn’t it us that need better chaos resistance rather than reducing his chaos resistance?

It boosts your Fire Mines Damage and due to Brimstone, we deal a little chunk of Chaos Damage ourself. Plus, one point invested results in 6 Points total, so it’s a fair deal imo. It’s no neccesarity though. You could invest the point into Flashbang, Searing Light or into a Nighblade Skill too.

Did you manage to kill Shar’Zul in the meantime?

Hey, I’m pretty new to GD and this is my first build that’s actually made it to end game farming. I was hoping someone could answer a couple questions for me.

First, how big of an upgrade is warpfire? I’ve been doing a lot of treasure trove / crucible farming and using Etram to try and gamble for it. Is there other gear I should be focusing on?

Second, I have 6% ADCH from reaper devo but I still don’t steal much life back and need to rely entirely on Pneumatic Burst and life potions to heal against most bosses. Should I be getting more ADCH from somewhere?

Gear:
Head:Faceguard of Justice
Shoulders: shoulderguards of justice
Chest: Chest guard of justice
hand: Runic Bracers
Leg: Dreeg sect pants
Relic: Ulzuin’s pyroclasm
Weapon #1Elite Legion Firestarter
Weapon #2Elite Legion Firestarter
Ring #1: Ruby of Elemental balance
Ring #2: Sapphire of Elemental Balance
Neck: Empowered Essence of Beronath
Belt: Equilibrium Sash
Boots: Golemborn Greaves
Medal: Mark of Divinity

(Sorry, had to type out gear since I don’t have enough posts to link a picture, lol)

how did you spend your stat points? sorry its not ont he calculators and also sorry if it was mentioned previously but theres 50+ pages in this thread now

from the previous page :

Warpfire gives +1 skill to both of your masteries. It also has resist reduction so its a pretty sizeable upgrade. Firestarters are still pretty good for the meantime. From looking at your gear, you only need the Justice hands and Ulzuin belt and you’re pretty much BiS.

As for ADCH, you can use Solael pants instead. My crappy stonehide Solael pants only has the minimum 2% ADCH but every bit helps. I also use transmuted blackwater to help tank some of the bosses. Its a nice investment for only 2 skill points.

Just to avoid confusing the newbies, Warpfire only gives +1 skill to Demo, nothing for Nightblade.

Hi there,

Pretty newb player and lurker here.

First of all thanks to all for their great community support.

The tri-ele sab is goint to be my first char in end game.
Atm at lv 74 and still in elite (right before killing log). I wanted to
stay in elite until I farmed enough black legion reputation to buy elite legion firestarter and for the augments.

1st question:
Is it worth dropping Jackal / hawk while picking viper?
U will mainly lose Attackspeed of Jackal, OA & crit dmg from hawk, but gain
the rr from viper & have got 2 points to spend at the end.
Could go to jackal to get the attack speed back again or empty throne
to fix res.
will look like this: grimcalc.com/build/1009-I4uS0Q (sorry not allowed to post links yet)

2nd question:
Until now the blueprint for ulzuins pyroclasm did not drop for me.
Do I have a chance that it still drops or is lv lv too high now?
(I found Annihilation blueprint but cant craft, because u need ulzuins for this…)
I searched the forum about item level drop range, but found no clear answer for this.

Thanks.
