[1.0.6.1] Dusty Conjurer Vitality Build - asking for advice

Hello!

It has been a while since I played Grim Dawn and would like to humbly ask for advice on my current character:

A lot has changed in the game as far as I can quickly tell, so any tips on what I should tweak to make my character a little more up to date?

I think I used to follow this guide to build up:

Also - not purchased Ashes yet - guess it is high time I should?

Thank you.

Hi Madziar and welcome to the forums! You can post a couple times in this thread to get your post count high enough to post links

Your build is outside of my expertise, having never made a vitality caster before, but it looks like you’re relying on your totems to do most of your damage? I’d put more points in Vulnerability to further reduce the ubiquitous vitality resistance that many mobs have. Your gear is not really optimal, but I assume you’re making do with what you have and don’t have a lot of stashed purples and double greens to work with? You need more resistances for sure, and it wouldn’t hurt to get some resistance to freeze while you’re at it so you don’t get CCd and swarmed while kiting.

You should definitely get Ashes, it’s a huge batch of new content and really adds to the diversity of available gear and class options.

As a caster you need to find +skills items ASAP. As vitality caster you don’t need Wendigo totem.
Look for Groble Sky effigy for extra totem.

Also consider getting Dying God constellation. It can be tough to gauge characters who aren’t max level so aim for that and use components and augments to help fill your resist gaps/HP before using them for damage, ie Soul Shard (rings) or Chains of Oleron (chest). There’s nice augments/components that would help fill your elemental resists and a Silk Swatch would do wonders for your bleed resist.

I have a vit conjurer that uses Doom Bolt (hasn’t been played since Ashes came out so not optimized either) so it’s not the same approach, however, we both share the same issue with elemental resists being a pain to fill. Here’s a link to it, check out the augments/components and maybe you’ll glean something useful out of it. https://www.grimtools.com/calc/p25qX6K2

Again don’t follow this build, I only played it in party so it is definitely not something that excels in solo.

Edit: Eldritch Gaze because it looks cool. Again, don’t follow this build

That is correct and my rotation is as follows.

Buff up with Possession, Mogdrogen’s Pact and Solael’s Witchfire - these are constant buffs.

When approaching a fight:

  1. Curse of Frailty
  2. Sigil of Consumption
  3. Wendigo Totem (for health)
  4. Storm Totem (dmg obviously)
  5. Blood of Dreeg (for health)
  6. Doom Bolt

don’t have a lot of stashed purples and double greens to work with?

I do have some - are you asking in terms of crafting? Any advice or is there a different thread for that?

Look for Groble Sky effigy for extra totem.

I actually did before I bought the DLC and it did not have the +1 totem buff. Now it does - thank you.

That is some nice looking gear.

If you’re not already doing it, try and keep blood of dreeg active as the OA buff it gives will help you clear faster. Also, Aspect of the Guardian gives physical resist which is clutch!
