1.0.7 PRM Arcanist

For a strongly PRM build, i am wondering if i should focus more on Elemental damage or Aether damage? While the skill line brings a lot of both damage types, I am worried about the monsters that are strongly aether resistant. Should I overcome that resistance with stacking aether damage, or ignore the aether elements of the spell and stack elemental? Thanks for the input.

Honestly stack both.

I’m currently leveling a PRM Sorcerer without Devastation (), it uses two sets: the Invoker and the Paragon. It gives a tremendous amount of bonus skills!

  • +12 to PRM
  • +9 to Distorsion
  • +9 to Supercharged
  • +3 to Proliferation

Works well for now.

Looks like we had the same idea

Why avoid Devastation though? Not enough skillpoints for smth else?

Nice  Although I think our builds are going to be very different, because from the only picture available now it seems that you focused on aether damage.

Why not? I just don’t want to use it.

Because PRM is the only skill in the Arcanist that sucks with single target w/o devastation. And also i’m playing DW caster so i can’t use devastation anyway

Yeah i did focus on aether, i am not the biggest fan of elemental as a whole.

Gonna jump in there to ask my question.

How exactly does Elemental Damage Work?

Is it 33% Fire, Ice and Lightning? So if an Elemental ATK does 300 Damage it actually does 100 of each and if you have gear that boost let’s say Fire for 50% it will do 150 - 100 - 100 ?

Or is Elemental actually another type of damage being affected only by “Elemental” boost ?

Flat elemental damage is dealt as 1/3 Fire, Lightning and Cold damage respectively. %Elemental damage will increase the damage of all three types for the whole amount.

The only PRM build that has worked for me is a druid using invoker + trozan set. focus on elemental and cold dmg.

imo invoker set, also blind sage constellations are really not optimal or bis setups for prm…

You could go full aether like i did in the link posted a few posts above you

In case you’re feeling lazy- here you go

full aether ? hell no man
ather and chaos is 2 worst dmg types in game to me… esp with all those poorly optimized lightning + aether constellations…
epicly bad arcane bomb…

with new aldritch thing ya ather might got some love , but ather and cold actually still needs 1 more dedicated class to shine… waiting next one.

i just wanted to say, people who think invoker set is bis, blind sage is bis should think other options thats it, cause they are really not bis.

read the guide , good work and awesome idea

but ty i am super fine with my prm already

So if I have an item with +30% Elemental Damage and I use a Fire Skill would it get +10%

And if I have a +30% Fire Damage would it translate into a +10% boost to an Elemental Skill?

Not quite. If you have an item with +30% Elemental damage, it will increase your Fire damage by 30%, your Cold damage by 30% and your Lightning damage by 30%. It adds the 30% to all three damage types.

+30% Fire Damage would increase the fire damage component of all attacks by 30%. This doesn’t directly translate to a +10% boost on an elemental skill, it would depend on how much fire damage that elemental skill does.

no, fire gets boosted by 30%, same as cold and lightning

And if I have a +30% Fire Damage would it translate into a +10% boost to an Elemental Skill?

yes, elemental damage is 1/3 cold, fire and lightning each, so a 1/3 of its damage is boosted by 30%, or in other words, all its damage gets boosted by 10%

Perfect

Thanks a lot that help to understand which gear to equip on the Arcanist I’m currently playing with a friend of mine.
