It’s actually not bad. I would try and think about getting reliable damage reduction somewhere (because one Oleron’s Blood is not it). High health regen should work well here for sustain. Shield block is not as effective (doesn’t block a lot of hurtful stuff) and playing Overguard with a transmuter is going to hurt your damage too much.
But one big mistake is not taking Bloobriar amulet. You are cutting into your Blitz damage too much by skipping it.
Also that OA is a bit low for a Phys build.
Thanks for the input.
I am aware the the OA is low, but I’m waiting to see what greens I can farm/equip before I try to improve that.
I expect that the overguard transmuter will not really pay off, but I do want to try it and see if it makes a big difference. I could remove it, get 10% shield recovery elsewhere, and time the overguard application with the facetanking and go skating when it’s down.
Edit: Or I could drop most points and swap the Shieldmaiden devotion for Panther or Stag or something and get those extra nodes in Azarakaa and Obelisk, but that would make the build feel more similar to others I’ve played.
Not using the bloodbriar amulet is indeed a huge drop in damage output. (Markovian at least gets its own -0.5 cooldown so can cope.)
For now the playstyle means I don’t suffer from it too much. I:
- Use Vire’s Might to charge through enemies and lay down fire
- This causes Maul to proc a truly ludicrous amount of times, it’s basically on screen all the time. This also helps sustain.
- Then I immediately charge back in with Blitz
- Then I hit with Cadence until deadly momentum is up and hopefully I crit for assassin’s blade
- Then I blitz again
- Cadence again
- Then I use Vire’s Might again and it starts all over
This is a pretty fun playstyle as long as I don’t misclick the Vire, and means I don’t feel the lack of cooldown as much, but I freely admit the total damage is much lower. I’ll see how it does once I complete the build and will compare the bloodbriar amulet version. (Though I’d need to farm a good one.)

There’s also the Fist of Vire devotion, but yeah, that is physical only and not exactly reliable either.
