Hi @nofika4u
I’m kinda new to this game. If you don’t mind me asking, how will I approach the devotions chronologically to get the result in Vitality Skeletons Grimtools?
Thank you!

Hi! You will notice in a lot of builds that you have to pick temporary devotions to get the affinity needed to reach other devotions, which will then grant the completion bonus allowing you to spec out of the temporary devotion at the Spirit Guide. For this build we only need to put temporary points at red and yellow crossroads. You can do it like this
Red crossroads
Fiend
Yellow crossroads
Stag
Blue crossroads
Green crossroads
Behemoth
Remove Red and Yellow crossroads at the Spirit Guide
Bysmiels Bonds
Panther
Staff of Rattosh
Lion
Dryad
Eel
Ishtak
Rattosh
Thank you so much for the guide and tips! I’ll eventually get the hang of this devotion system now onto level 100
Good luck!
Im not sure how well vitality skeletons will work out leveling and at max level without specific gear. The skeletons physical damage will be unconverted without the legendary gloves, which is a big damage loss. If you are struggling either fire or aether skeletons will be stronger until you have crucial gear pieces.
But give it try, respeccing is easy in this game
Hello! Could you please attach the saves to the topic?
Similar to what csk0103 does in the neighboring topics about tanks.
Sk_choi* does
Csk0103 - the name of his characters
Hi Nofi,
Yeah I go to aether skeletons first for leveling then go vitality. Thank you!
Do you think the Vitality Skeleton build would work for a HC toon in Season 7 of Grim League? If not which pet build would be best for survivability + being able to kill everything?
It might work but im not aware of league changes. I think theres a lot of super bosses which might wreck skeletons?
Ghol Ritualist, Bysmiel Conjurer (maybe with defensive Ishtak devo path) and Diviner Ritualist (since pets are immortal) would be my suggestions
Updated with savefiles now
Thanks a lot!
Updated Ghol and Chaos skeletons to latest patch.
Tried to get a little more pet tank on Ghol. Chaos skeletons are now one of the strongest builds in the game after chaos RR addition to CoF
Hi lad. Do you think Chaos skellies can match the strenght of more Tank oriented pet builds likem Ghol ritualist or Bysmiel conjurers? Or even a Lost Souls vitality variant of cabalist
Hey man!
It depends on what you consider strong. In my opinion skeletons are ahead of other pets for all content other than Calla, SR 40+ and maybe Crate. The clear speed is just much better with skeletons and they survive well enough, might have a skellie die every now and then in ~SR36 but they are easy to resummon.
Ghol is very good though and can rival skellie builds. Bysmiel is pretty good but lacking in some areas to be considered a beastly build.
Lost Souls adds some tank to skeletons but it was a lot worse than custom options when I last tested it.
Briars are tanky with good single target but their aoe is a bit depressing. Eard was pushing for reduced Ground Slam CD some test patch which I fully agree with.
Well, “strong” is kinda relative since i’m not actively doing SR or cruci XD the only thing was thatci was thorn between levelimg a Ghol ritualist (with Guardian on Death’s Gates… Not fully conversion but more skellies, i’m a madman) or your chaos build but with lost souls (more skellies and a bit tankier)
Go Cabalist. Skeletons have the ability to spread their damage around, which makes them better at AoE, while still being about to stack it all on a single target if needed.
Ritualist lost a pile of P&A resistance shredding a few patches ago which hurts its damage, while Cabalist just gained a bunch of Chaos RR on CoF. It’s straight up better now. You can build offensively or you can build defensively. They’re both “strong,” depending on what that means to you.
I haven’t tested non-Lost Souls, but if nofika4u is saying that non-set is better, then there’s a good chance he’s right
Yeah (my Ritualist is focused on skellies and blightfiends tho, that’s why i run it with Guardian of Death’s Gates). My Ritualist was able to kill Calla after some minutes of kiting, gotta try with Cabalist (the loss of RR for Devouring Swarm did huet, yeah)
Hello sir, is that a big deal to have 5% poison resistance on the defensive build?
Did you turned on the temporary buffs? Blood of Dreeg is covering the poison resistance.
I played Lost Souls just few days ago. Compared to custom, you definitely have less damage, but set makes Skeletons really tanky. I’ve done few SR 30-31 and naked Crucible runs without losing single skeleton, only deeper realms (or if you want to do supers) they’re in real danger.
