On my legit solo SR36 scale it’s a humble 7/10.
Really nice online with glass cannons.
I’m guessing that trap resistance works. If not, it would be the same build.
EDIT: I remembered why I used Deathstalker relic. The summon was required to proc a devotion.
Raise Skeletons together with Scales - that’s a waste of devotion space. Those resist shreds don’t stack.
OA is also really low, and your DA shred from Trap won’t work on quite a few bosses. No Shadow Strike for mobility, underscaled Cunning and Rend bound to Deathstalker lower the overall score to 3/10 to me.
P.S. Video where you struggle to kill a single Nemesis at SR 36 made me chuckle, raising my score by 0.5 points, 3.5 pet Tricksters out of 10.
Scales is for health and energy, but both rr have a recharge so still good.
Yes it would be better with better affix rolls. I expect build followers to improve on the gear. I always say it’s the build, not drops luck or editor requirement.
News to me. I assumed (still) that it was disable in the code a long time ago.
Vampiric Shadows
Yup, looks correct. AOE with 5 sec duration.
My system is x/10min remaining at the end of a SR36 playing solo with no editors used. Not a matter of my opinion.
Remember it’s legit, extremely important. Only a handful of characters can do solo SR36 with 6-7min still on the clock without pets.
It’s much better to have Shadow Strike + rune of your choice for extra mobility, it’s flabergasting to see builds that ignore posted.
Rend is one of your main damage modifiers and you are barely proccing it with Deathstalker. Correct way would be Rend to Vines.
Well it’s your system that no other builder uses or recognizes. It’s exactly the matter of your opinion.
Important in Automator’s world. Absolutely not important when you are making builds. In fact you are making your builds worse by not exploring all possible options with GDstash.
That’s just nonsense and I can show you ten videos that disprove it but you will ignore them like you ignored all the arguments like that before.
Also “timer remaining” is a joke and you made it into a bigger meme by doubling and trippling down on this nonsensical metric. Always a good laugh tho!
Started with that.
EDIT: You can swap it with Twin Fangs as a lateral without breaking the build. The other dev procs are required.
EDIT2: Ugh! Will I ever learn not to second guess long after extensive testing… Devotions must be exactly as in the build guide.
You did not follow. Average time remaining, nothing sophisticated.
I can’t stress enough… Editor builds are great for what they are. This is a totally different category. My builds are likely drops for everyone playing base game.
I wish people would stop confusing min/maxing editor builds with general build guides. Not the same.
Again, not the same category. Don’t get me wrong. It’s a great category, Just not this one. You can’t force everyone to use a mod you like.
Was fun talking, but you have fully slipped into “I’m not, you are” gear. Thanks for the good questions.
Genuinely interested: if someone posted a build that they assembled with GD stash, then I go and farm all the items with exact same affixes in-game legit way (I never had and never will have any mods, even rainbow filter): do I then have a legit build or an editor one, in your opinion?
Your helmet is a triple rare. I’ve seen come other of your builds which also use triple rares. I don’t know about you but they aren’t exactly “likely drops”.
It’s not just the affixes. As I understand min/max builders generate gear until stats are close as possible to max.
I explain often yet it’s still often missed. Look at a few of my double rares. You will see less than desirable affixes like the helmet you just mentioned.
A build to me is the skills, devotions, and Mi’s. Good affixes are on the builder to find and are not required to run a SR36 solo near the claimed speed.
Point of fact: The rarity of perfect affixes is what keeps many of my friends interested in the game. Everyone lights up when someone displays their great roll on SR37 loot.
I have actually thought about farming for the worst affix rolls possible for build guides. Answering the same questions about MI’s and legit builds gets difficult. Perhaps I will start saying default instead of legit. Never thought “legit” might be offensive… The term has been used since I can remember to describe base game, never thought about it.
Edit: I meant “A build to me is the skills, devotions, and base gear”.
Yk with the GD astash assembly, most of time it goes like this → I theory craft something which might be best but still very possible so not a triple rare but at least one side of affix green.
Then I level that shit up to 94 and then I try to get similar parts, if not the desired ones from theorized blueprint I previously made. Is it GD stashes build or completely legit one u ask? I don’t know but what I do know is if you play multiplayer like I do 95% of time, it won’t matter fully cuz cheaters are rampant there and gotta be careful even if urself don’t… cheat.
Hint, sometimes I do that, but usually it’s only for 1 stat, usually conversion, or heath% etc, not all good stats or a double rare, because after a thousand+ hours of SR farming I know double MI’s are rare as hell. So I don’t use them unless it’s something very easy to target farm, and even then I haven’t posted one with double rares since that one build. Which I’ve since weaned off those double rare MI’s because it’s lazy build making.
But hey, you do you, but if you post here, you should expect criticism from people who having been playing the game solidly and trying to work with mostly realistic drops. Even if I love making meme builds like the acid RoS spammers I did With their rather low chance acid affixes.
Which reminds me, I need to do a Vitality one already, because I can see Crimson Spike being useful :3
Affixes are NOT part of my builds as clearly stated. MI’s are critical for conversions, skills, and flat damage to skills per game design.
Absolutely no problem with criticism. I do however find it frustrating when someone says something like “hybrid builds are bad” because someone they considered smart said it once.
Criticism without effort is annoying, I think everyone can agree.
FYI: Here is a hybrid build I never finished. I would guess it’s extremely better at solo SR3637 than 90% in the “Top” list. Not a criticism… I was told that list is for speed-running SR30 and not SR36. Just making a point. Spellbinder, Level 100 (GD 1.2.1.6) - Grim Dawn Build Calculator
I do my best to answer question even when they are on a loop. Someone observing may find it useful.
Looks like a run of the mill pet build. It’s is clear fact that pets can push deeper (and easier) into SR then almost everything. That’s been proven by Maya and multiple videos.
Calling something hybrid (or anything else) like all other things is a subjective statement that obviously isn’t shared by everyone, especially a certain top20 person(s).
Without some sort of dps data, I can’t see that diviner’s being a hybrid build.
Here is a question. If I took a pure chaos pet build and then swapped the relic for oblivion, could I call my self a hybrid? Sure could by self definition but the reality is the relic would likely be doing less then 10% of my overall dmg. At which point arguing it with anyone would be semantics because only the subjective definition of hybrid is actually be argued over…which is futility.
Also I think you could shut down the naysayers if you posted a video showing the “full” 36-37 clear and the dps breakdown with a mod if claiming hybrid. The video posted above was not a full clear right? Don’t forget that your available time to clear is going to be halved soon when FoA hits.
I posted a pet Spellbinder a while back I consider best in the entire game. The one here in the comments I never finished.
and…
I thought Maya did double pet classes for new players. Saw her step into a 1 pet class version a short while back. IIRC it was also for beginners.
All my posted builds are SR3637 only. I wouldn’t have a clue about earlier as every character I play is Lokarr’s set until level 94.
Hybrid in this game means damage is divided between player and pet scaled pets.
It is a designed in option of the set with many support items.
Yes, a very bad hybrid. I don’t follow your point.
There are only 2 hybrids that have set gear designed for them and some random items for other builds abandon by devs. I have now posted both, and both can run a solo SR36 easily.
I have rep with the people who are interested. Another game-play video in a sea of editor builds is a big nope.
Confused. You were talking about the unfinished hybrid I posted in the comments right. If you want to discuss OP that’s completely not a hybrid build.
OP trickster has player scaled pets and direct player damage.
If playing end-game you are slow and die = bad build, if you are fast and live = good. Don’t see how anything could change that.
Well, it turns out 34+ are actually easier in some ways on the timer, simply due to there being increased spawns of champs and heroes. Main issue of course is dying in the boss room, because it will cost you a ton of time and the malus should be reduced to 2 minutes imho.
They were mentioning that boss hp is getting scaled up significantly and celestial souls give much less rewards. If you’re confused read the 1.3 playtest changelog.
Yup. Fair game since it was posted here. Don’t consider it hijacking. But this thread also shows an unfinished run.
Too black and white. Finishes with more than enough time left and alive = good. Not everyone is concerned with fast clears.
In a sea of false claims, also a big nope. I don’t know your sources nor can I confirm. I am simply pointing out what I see in the thread. If I make a statement and someone post a “section” of that statement it could very well be used out of context. You mentioned it being frustrating someone calling a hybrid build crap because another smart person said it, what’s frustrating is people posting things not backed with hard evidence then saying “trust me”. Again I am not criticizing anything. I am pointing out what’s here.
Without a dps breakdown we can’t see the dmg the player or the pets are doing and what’s contributing the most. By your logic I could take the best chaos pet build, change the relic, go into SR 36, score 8-10 on your scaling and I could consider myself a function hybrid but that is very far from the truth isn’t it? And if you’re wondering how I know this, I just did it. I changed out the relic for oblivion and still killed almost as fast as usual.
The timer is going down to ~4 min with 25% more boss hp. I’ve played the PTR since start. It’s a little bit tougher now.
That’s on me. Pure laziness. I made hundreds of videos and when google stopped paying, I stopped making an effort. Just wanted to share builds I found fun to play.
It’s somewhere around half and half by casual observation and in the top 90%'ish of all builds. As I mentioned earlier my pure pet spellbinder is light years better than the one I posted in comments. That post was just to show how some claims are just some dude sitting at a PC making stuff up. Heck, I don’t believe half the things that I say
I do see your point about how anything can be hybrid. I think it needs gear specifically designed for it to qualify. Just a passive ally buff affecting pets… na.
I would agree if the dmg was a 50/50 split but without a full video and the mod with dps…
The sets you mentioned are “likely → my opinion” designed to be used either way. Sure you can use both ways but they won’t measure up to some people’s definition of a “build.”
I’m glad they are fun and that people are still pushing the creative envelope but could you at least show a full run? (didn’t watch the hybrid video so if a full run is there then disregard this statement)
I feel Crate’s true answer to hybrids is in FoA changing pet scaling pets to player scaled ones and maybe Vice versa?
The build was just a grim tools link, however all my GD videos are not full runs.
Mentioned before, why would anyone think my full run was any more honest than 10,000 others making creative adjustments. Seems silly to put faith in youtube when it comes to video games.
I was among the very first youtube Let’s Players with Minecraft way back and even then most LP’ers were editing and claiming 100% legit for the legit only crowd.
People believe my builds or not, don’t care.
Doesn’t really matter what the topic is regarding the video or what platform it is on. There will always be bad faith actors and people will always have to make up their own minds on what’s is real and what is false.
I watched the video in this thread. By the standards I would use to make a judgement call, looks legit. In fact no one in the thread is even questioning the authenticity of the video, only the performance of the showcased build. But if you are saying I cleared it with x min left on the clock and it’s not there…
As predicted this is no longer about whether a build can or cannot do something. I have seen and have builds that can do SR 36 while maintaining the timer (even in PTR) but when looked through the lens of “build philosophy” they would be considered “shit”.
The one thing I gotta say about the video in this thread is that the use of blade trap on trash was quite refreshing to see being that GD feels like a facetank simulator. It’s too bad that bosses just ignore it. That and OFF are one of my biggest gripes about GD.
