1.1.9.1 Build Update
Unfortunately this build (as well as Lightning damage as a whole) has been hit by numerous nerfs so the previous version wasnāt good enough anymore.
However, after tweaking it and testing various skills and gear combinations I have found a spec that once again can answer all the challenges that game throws at it.

It feels like I am beating a dead horse here but despite numerous requests Barrelsmith pistols were never updated with QoL caster weapon stats. This build for example has to use Mark of Illusion and Arcane Spark to manage Energy and that is on an Arcanist with 1500 in Spirit and additional cast cost reduction. Playing them comfortably on Elementalist or Purifier will be almost impossible.
And I am not even mentioning all the trade offs a player has to make when he uses two pistols instead of dagger/scepter + off-hand on a caster: much less global CDR, no %Energy Regeneration, no skill points, less %damage.

Ha, nice, sizeable increase in dps. My goal was Crate kill (58 seconds I think?), farming SR75-76 + full crucible, all of which it handled with ease. Even with the old spec, not min-maxed. Timeless build! (for now)

Iām just wondering how grenado works with WPS? I donāt see anything in the tool tip or on gear that indicates itās capable of proccing wps. Am I totally missing something? Is it an unspoken mechanic like how Stormrend lets you primal strike without a two handed weapon? Or am I just off base completely?
No, itās much more mundane than that: you press grenado on lmb and when it goes on cooldown game thinks that you are pressing white attack basically. Which in turn triggers wps.

Reshuffled components and changed pants to plug Freeze res. If you can plug it with Dreeg pants - keep Dreeg pants. Build feels pretty nice overall. Find the updated grimtools in the op, here are some videos with buildās current performance:

I tried to fit in Aeon while keeping Turtle, Crab, Ghoul and Behemoth (dumping Ultos and Tempest) but failed. I keep wondering however if that would increase the survivability by a lot due to all of layers of protection
Builld used to have Aeon loooong ago. I think nowadays itās better off with a bunch of strong tier-2 devotions like Tempest, Hydra, Crab etc. + Ultos.
1.2.1.6 Update
During the test patch I decided to try a different approach with this build. Rune armor of Ignaffar got buffed with more hp so I took that and went for hard capped Improved casing and Ignaffar gloves. Plus freshly buffed Harp turned out to be a perfect fit here. Despite less %damage on paper build became much stronger overall. It is probably one of the strongest casters in the game right now and still one of my favourite builds.

Also I decided to add Barellmith Elementalist build to the guide: very strong and potent caster on its own, you can find its grimtools and videos in the op.
What? Does grenado proc wps???
Nope, itās simpler than that: when you are holding your lmb to cast grenado you proc auto-attack when your Grenado is on cd. Somehow this flow works best for Barellsmith builds (and some other builds that can proc wps in-between), discovered by @banana_peel himself (but maybe by someone else too, no idea).

For the Elementalist version, you could put one extra point for Maelstrom so you get 4 targets instead of 3. I suggest taking it from Stormcallerās Pact or Shattering Blast.
