When fighting Dread with pets wait until you see your pet health bars go down and then relocate the fight out of the life drain pool the Dread generates. It heals the Dread and kills your pets

So, I just got all unique in the end game setup from other chars. Time to leveling this build tomorrow. So excited

Thanks for this, it’s exactly what I was looking for!

What do you suggest for the Devotion/Skill attachments during the leveling phase? Sorry if I overlooked them, but I don’t see them anywhere.

Curse - Shepherd’s Crook
Familiar - Amatok (Blizzard)
Hellhound - Rhowan’s Crown (Elemental Storm)

Tortoise, Ishtak & Tree - any permanent/passive skills. Eg - 1 point in Mogdrogen’s Pact for Tortoise, Ishtak and Tree on Possession and Bonds of Bysmiel. Blood of Dreeg is also an option to use, but make sure to keep it up all the time if doing that.

Perfect! Thanks so much!

Well, I don’t know if I’m a good-enough (or really, patient-enough) pilot to try the Uber rematch, but I can confirm this build can kill at least the normal version of N’erfatal! Ascendant difficulty, but no buffs from the altar applied.

Nice work. This build should handle Uber bosses pretty easily, but activating the altar is too risky for HC. SC players can definitely give it a try.

Looks cool, but I wonder what it takes to get those double rares

It’s a lot easier now. Farm a green MI with one good affix first, then use Ashes to reroll it into a double-rare. Ashes are pretty easy to farm these days as well.

I was able to kill with Maya’s Nurgle Bath Bombs build without altar. But with all altars, for sure the boss is harder to kill, like you said sc is worth trying, but not for HC. Hopefully I can kill it later today with Maya’s build lol. Also, leveling your build so far looks like DPS is a lot better than other pet builds.

Updated:
Killed him with 5 altars on; forgot the center one, using Maya’s Nurgle bath bombs build. Doable as long as you avoid getting hit.

My old conjurer with way too much play time already looked eerily similar to this build, so I decided to update it, and I am very impressed with the performance.
I made some very costly optimizations to mine over the past week, so I figured I’d share what I have right now.
My impression is that the pants make a pretty big difference thanks to the resistances they provide, opening up the relic slot for Bysmiel’s Domination for even bigger crits. I also went all-in on crits with Dying God, which does hurt survivability a little, but I feel like the damage gains might outperform Mogdrogen’s howl. I haven’t done any in-depth science yet, but my dogs are sitting at some 5800 OA with x4.2 crits and curse shredding 480 DA. I only recall Iron Maiden and Ravager not eating max damage crits, but that was before I added Bysmiel’s Domination recently, the extra 24% OA might do the trick.
Superbosses have all been trivial, but I haven’t tried Callagadra yet. The deepest I’ve gone in SR was Asc41, but I’m in hardcore and it was feeling a little too risky, especially with no rewards. Although I’ve never felt like the damage was lacking.

Here’s my pet screen with buffs + purple pot active.

Your setup definitely does more damage, but I don’t think the gap is all that large. The best way to compare them is by looking at clear times across different types of content. I think your version is better suited for speed farming.

The main drawback is that Bysmiel’s Domination relies on a proc. In high-pressure encounters like Callagadra, Uber Narfatal, or deep SR, it can be difficult to keep the relic proc active consistently, especially in Hardcore. It’s not that those encounters can’t be done with it—it’s just not as consistent or reliable.

That’s why I chose Mogdrogen’s Ardor. From an overall balance perspective, even though it has been nerfed quite a bit, the Total Speed and OA it provides still help pets maintain more consistent aggro and land reliable critical hits against superbosses.

Maya tried Primal Instinct on a similar build and quickly rejected it in favor of Mogdrogen’s Ardor. The defense on that relic esp with aether and chaos is really good.

Primal Instinct has been nerfed into the ground. At least for now, I don’t really see any reason to use it anymore.

Aye, I just did a couple asc Callagadra runs and I’m consistently getting ~1 minute kill times with kiting, with ~50% slow resist on the pets. I’m not noticing any appreciable DPS difference between both devotion setups, but the one you posted is definitely safer thanks to additional healing and no HP drain from Dying God.

I’m not entirely sure that Bysmiel’s Domination is the culprit. The massive OA and crit damage increase alone should at least in theory yield more damage, without factoring in the proc. The main issue I’ve run into is the pets needing to be resummoned, but I’m skeptical as to how much of a difference the +200 +15% armor really make against Callagadra of all things, because I think it only comes out to some +700-800-ish armor which is peanuts against that thing.

My gut says that sticking with your devotion tree is the correct move, but pants + relic should be able to push more damage. I’ll have to record and compare some more runs before I can say for sure though. Definitely feels safer and smoother with your devotion setup.
What I can say for sure so far is that it’s definitely nebulous as to whether farming the pants was even worth it, because the gap indeed appears to be relatively small in practice.

Bysmiel’s pants are definitely a viable option, but I think they’re more valuable in setups that run Ishtak and need the extra OA. In your case, with Bysmiel’s Domination, your pets already have plenty of OA.
At that point, the main benefit of the pants is the extra pet resistances. If Dying God doesn’t provide a noticeable improvement in clear times, then sacrificing survivability for it isn’t really worth it. On top of that, a large portion of Dying God’s bonus—around 370% Vitality damage—is completely wasted on this build.

Agreed. It feels like the biggest benefit of the pants is the entrapment resist, but that can also be solved via potion, so it’s not substantial enough to justify.

Update Uber Nerfatal Boss videos.

v1.3.0.6 Changes:

  1. Uber Nerfatal seems to have received a significant increase to its DA. Comparing it with the v1.3.0.5 Mystic Ice King pet build makes the difference pretty obvious. Pets can now barely land any critical hits against it.
  2. Shaman and Occultist summons now have summoning animations , meaning there is now a delay before the pets actually appear, similar to Necromancer summons. This can create some additional pressure in high-intensity situations where pets are dying frequently, such as against Uber Nerfatal or in deep SR .

Hmm interesting to see that its uber kill time is actually slower than the ice king pet. Iirc the OA difference between the two builds are not that much right?
