I plan on sticking to my guns of making a good 2 handed ultimate viable Temporal Arcblade oriented Battlemage build. I want this post to be a suggestion/collaboration more than anything. Basically I want to know from everyone’s experiences what skills in Arcanist and Soldier would be good maxing/keeping half way or just one point wonders. Some notes about what i like on my toon so far. I really like the reflect damage mechanic. I picked up the devotion that gives 25% reflect passively and that helps. Retaliation damage is fun to work with, mainly have pierce from the same devotion, Fire from reckless power, and some small lightning/aether. I do know i want this to also be a Callidor’s Tempest build cause its logically one of the only viable melee Arcanist skills that doesn’t require and offhand. Its also fun to knock shit around XD. OK with all that stuff said, I’ll open this up to the public.
Not looking for a random link to some other battlemage build that some guy made with some duel wielding skills or whatever. I’m using 2 handed and i’m sticking with Temporal Arcblade as my main weapon.
Skill suggestions and even devotion suggestions are greatly appreciated
I do plan on posting the full build when i reach 85 and make sure this build can at the very least solo ultimate and survive well enough cause im willing to try different stuff. So with that said any great suggestions i use from this post will definitely get recognition!
I’m not looking for smartass remarks plz. I’m a chill dude, i just want a friendly discussions.
I tinkered around with that weapon for like, 3-4 hours on my Lv.85 Battlemage. The only viable solution I came up with is Callidors Tempest and Warcry. Since the Sword itself grants a massive amount of casting speed, its either Forcewave(I figured it has way less damage than CT) or CT. In addition to that its very likely to be an Aether/Fire oriented build or just Aether/Elemental, because there is no other viable stat combination.
I had a very old battlemage from EA that was doing many things in the past, but mainly elemental melee. Tried to level him and tried using temporal archblade too, and its horrible in the current meta.
I used beronath fury with zolhan/markovian, had damage that is worse than that of some sword and board builds. Don’t try this. Beronath is mainly useful for builds that already have strong attacks like spellbreakers with dual blades line.
Tried to use blade arc instead and it was also horrible.
Then specced into callidor’s tempest and that was ok, though lacking good single target damage. Ended up with dagger and focus (Aldanar’s vanity) to use devastation too, and that was finally good.
Keeping my fingers crossed that you can make it work, I’ve been trying for ages to no effect.
I tried Forcewave with 100% conversion to aether/elemental and Falcon swoop. Lack of +Forcewave hurts here. It’s strictly worse than Crown of winter king.
I tried CT, it was decent, but still a strictly worse version of a standard CT build. Lack of devastation really hurts the DPS output.
I even tried a Phantasmal blades build. It’s not bad, PB procs Falcon swoop every second which contributes significantly to the damage output and lack of Devastation doesn’t hurt that badly. What sucks is that there is no good way of getting 100% conversion without Iskandra’s ammy, making my PB even weaker than they already are.
My last try is going to be a Sorc with Quick jacks and 100% conversion. I can already see that the need for Riftstone and Lack of a +1 all skills amulet will make this build shitty.
