2H ranged Elementalist - help please

You can upload your char directly into GrimTool, see this guide I wrote https://drive.google.com/open?id=1EaPgyave_zqzo3aJi4T4bZ2pQrnBemD3

Use Wind Devil instead of Grenado. 1/12 and get raging tempest to 12/12 (higher than that is not useful)

Leave Searing light and Ulzuins flame at 1 hard point, and get primal strike higher

Get Blast shield, a really good panic skill

like this https://www.grimtools.com/calc/w26wYmOV

while Flame torrent is a good leveling proc, you will use tempest and/or Ultos hand later on (since you will focus on lightning damage)

I thought earlier in my thread someone said to not use Wind Devils. That is why I switched them out, I also thought you could no longer proc Wind Devils. I definitely prefer what you did to my build. So, will “respec” my character later today using the two potions after I confirm I can bind/proc Wind Devils with Flame Touched to the latest build you linked. Hopefully last question ( unless I do do a replay run) - on the skills that say “must be toggled…” does that mean you have to hold the skill button down to use it? If yes, then should I assign Storm Callers Pact to my RMB?

Wind devil isn’t a proc, it’s a skill you cast. It’s only good because the second node reduced enemy elemental resistances

Yes, I understand that Wind devil is a skill you cast, but had read the newest changes/updates to the game made it so Wind Devil could no longer be bound in a proc slot in devotions, specifically Arcane bomb ( Widow Devotion). See this link- https://www.reddit.com/r/Grimdawn/comments/8ii8xo/cant_bind_wind_devil_to_arcane_bomb_widow_devotion/

So I want to make sure that I can use it in the Fiend devotion Proc = Flame Torrent. After reading more the other thing the new update did was nerf my Frame torrent-LOL.

Wind devils are dope. You can put one point into Maelstrom also, some say it makes Wind Devils better proccers but I can not confirm that myself

Get Ultos hand and rule  Forget about flame torrent, it is good for leveling but at some point - get rid of it. Anyway, yes Wind devil can have Flame torrent bound to it. The grimtools calculator is updated, so what see can be attached there is true in game too.

I have not changed gear but this is a “good” setup for skills and devos (assuming you can fix resistances on gear) at level 100

Depending on if you get much faster weapon, you can shift some point from temper to vindicative flame)

Craft Ancestor relic when you can, almost solely for the +1 shaman skills

Make sure you have Raging tempest and Flashbang 12/12 and thermite mine is good enough at 10/16 but feel free to experiment.

Get some life leech too, there are components you can put in gloves and weapon.
When Ultos hands proc, you also get some life leech since it deals some weapon damage.
Get at least 170% attack speed (look for gloves and weapon) and 15% life leech.
Keep cunning and spirit to meet req for weapon and jewlery and rest physique.

You can also always grind up your reputation (get writ as soon as you can) with Coven and Malmouth and get these, in case you dont find anything better
https://www.grimtools.com/db/items/7732 (use Amber component)
https://www.grimtools.com/db/items/7572 (good overall survival ring)
https://www.grimtools.com/db/items/7570 (good overall offensive ring)

Later on, when you got your devotions skills leveled up, they will serve as trash clearers and you can switch Primal strike to Savagery as main skill:

Yes, you can.

yes, WE can! / B. Obama

Bob the Builder said it first.

He can also fix your GD build!

Toggled means you have to activate them by pressing the key you attach the skill to.

You turn them on and off just by hitting the button. So no, not an RMB skill. I usually put my toggled skills on the second hotkey bar, then I just have to activate them once, switch back to the other hotkey bar and forget about them unless I die.

I made a quick video demonstration https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2lRYJaZSJOs&feature=youtu.be

The secondary skillbar also have a hotkey (for me, its Y)

Some monsters can remove all your toggled skills, be prepared for that

wow- super … There is a ton of info and complexity/options to this game. I appreciate all the posts and help. . I think I may have “things in hand” enough to do the respec now.

Yes - I had planned on dumping the Fiend devotion and going to Utos ASAP. But first I have to finish Kraken ( 2 more) .

It will be a lot of fun going back and actually having a fighting chance with the numerous bosses that I just skipped/gave up because I got destroyed in 5 seconds or less.

Give them what they deserve!

Depending on how much physical -> lightning conversion you can get later on, you might also benefit by having more in Temper and Mogdrogens pact (adds flat physical damage, wich a large chunk will be converted to lightning)

have fun good luck!

@facetman: Maybe what would be of most use to you is to read this guide here - http://www.grimdawn.com/forums/showthread.php?t=69750

It gives a lot of insight into how to make leveling a smoother process, and things you can start doing now in preparation for the end game.

Feel free to keep the questions you have coming.

Aha!! again thank you to all.

After checking out your linked build Malawiglenn- I noticed several different devotions that I had not really looked at before. So, I worked this new build out using more of the devotions you used and their procs.

https://www.grimtools.com/calc/4VxYJDeZ

Notice - now have 4 devotional procs ( Ghoulish hunger, Arcane bomb, Elemental Storm, and Two Fangs) not three like it was on the other build. And the other stuff like DA,OA , health, and energy are all better compared to the other build. But the per hit damage, magic damage, etc is lower on the newest build while the defensiveness like “reflect damage” being much better on the newest. I also think this build will be easier to continue/proceed to a better build down the road and maybe (heaven forbid )- toward replaying on Elite.

I am still unsure about how many points to put into each skill-but I am getting there. Also not sure how to “uncraft or break down” items - I just got another epic chest to drop (Eastern Robes) which I am already using- what are the chances?? SO, I know there is a way to break this down and get good crafting stuff from it using dynamite and crystals- I assume you go to the Blacksmith to do this-- help on this please.

EDIT: I found this post which explains deconstruction pretty well - https://www.reddit.com/r/Grimdawn/comments/56n2en/this_is_why_to_deconstruct/

Twin fangs will not heal you later on, since you wont scale up its vitality damage. I just included it for the greens and red points. Ghoulish hunger + Blast shield will make you immortal (almost)

Reflect damage is easy to counter, there are also augments for it that you put in rings and amulet. Just make sure to overcap your lightning resist byt 20-30 points and you should be fine.

ok - so Bat Is a temporary Devotion. Good till Kraken is filled and I start moving to Utos? Are my skill points distribution Ok in that last build I linked? How about what skill I put on the Procs?

I keep forgetting about Augments- crafting on a whole actually. Maybe because I think I only have revered status at one or maybe no place - so cant buy any Augments.

In order to get Augments you need to farm reputation, so it is pretty much impossible to never “rerun” areas with your first char. The other chars will have it easier to get reputation since you can buy them Mandates once you reach revered with your first char.

1 point max on wind devil, they wont do damage for you just reduce resistances and trigger devos.
Get Thunderous strike so you can spam Primal strike.

Yes, Bat is just temporary - you need the red and greens for Ultos hand later. So it is just there to get reds and greens (there is probably another way to get red and greens, I did not try that tbh but atleast it offers some life leech :stuck_out_tongue: )

This is my Sparkthrower that my 2H elementalist (or if I choose Inquisitor as 2nd class, not sure yet) will use (he is only level 31 now) https://i.imgur.com/88dPk9S.png
About 40% of that flat physical damage will be converted to lightning, yummy!
I am basically leveling with Storm totems and Wind devils now

Nice gun!! I am using a 55 level green Warped Ugembog Sparkthrower of Alacrity. Once I respec I will use your guide to show my whole build. How did you do that link just your exact gun? hmm I just realized I put the wrong Sparkthrower in the last build - should be level 55 not 40 - that explains the lower damage on the build.
