Hi Everyone. First off - hats off to the developers. I absolutely love this game. My friend and I were looking for something to do between Diablo III seasons and we are so enjoying the experience. But…I do have a couple minor suggestions.
Remove the ability to target a group member. This is very annoying. I only play with my one friend and I cannot imagine what this would be like in a 4-player group. But, if you’re side by side swinging away at the same monsters it is inevitable that you are sometimes going to try and click on a friend simply because you can target them.
Please make it possible so a group member’s name appears above their toon so it makes it easier to discern them from enemies.
I second this! It’s not something that annoys me on a regular basis, but there have been numerous occasions where I’ve wished for these exact things to exist.
Hmmmm…it just occurred to me that maybe a simple solution would be for me to go ranged pet build and my friend would stay in the front lines. But, would she still be targeting my pets even though I would be in the back?
Not sure whether no necropost or make a new thread about something that’s been mentioned, so I chose the former.
This would be simply amazing. Often, targeting a group member does nothing but get in the way.
During combat, I have often run off following another player when I was trying to stay in combat. On caster characters, especially those who have AoE abilities which require no specific target (curses, Sigil of Consumption, etc.), it can be even more frustrating when the spell simply doesn’t go off because a player was under the cursor. Grouped players can’t harm each other, even accidentally, so why disallow AoE spells from being cast on them anyway?
From what I can tell, there is basically no actual reason to allow group member targeting other than possibly identifying a character by name when moused over.
In lieu of removing player targeting altogether, it would be beneficial for players to be a significantly lower target priority than mobs (akin to a lower layer in a graphic image or something similar) to prevent some of these headaches. Allowing harmful spells to be cast on group members would help as well (since they aren’t damaged by it, the effect would simply be centered at their location), and removing the “follow” feature would be tremendous (or at the very least putting a toggle in the options for those who would miss it).
Even after the expansion is released if I still am able to target my friend, then we may not decide to get the expansion. It’s too frustrating of a group experience especially given we usually go the tank +ranged combo and I am always clicking around the tank given that’s where the enemies are.
May be because there’s a Player versus Player (PvP).
If it changed, it should still able to target enemy player in PvP.
Only friends player shouldn’t able to be “wrong” targeted.
