A few questions about pets

Hey there,
I’m currently theory crafting a Pyro hybrid build and I was wondering…

1)… If I assign a devotion proc to my pets, do they still scale with my dmg bonusses or are calculated with pet bonusses?

2)… Flame touched is applied to my pets as well. So let’s say I have at 5/10 so that it adds +10 fire damage. And I do have enough +fire bonus so that the skill lists +100.
If I got it right than all my minions should get +100 fire damage on hit. But as they are the guy’s that attack this 100 dmg should get multiplied by pet bonusses again. Right? Or only the basic 10 plus pet bonus?

Buffs/passives don’t double dip. Here’s the order AFAIK…

Base skill --> Aura is applied --> Buffs happen

So if the aura hypothetically has 10 fire damage and +50% to fire, and your character has +150% to fire on top of that, your character will do 30 fire damage from the aura. If your pet has +250% to fire, it will do 40 fire damage, regardless of your characters buffs to fire.

Devotions procs I believe always scale with player bonuses/weapon damage regardless of if a pet activates them.

I see people in build link Celetial Power to their Pet. Does that mean the impact is when you actually cast them or when the pet actually do the action ? (I saw some on Hit that I could link to a pet but there is probably more?)

It is when the pet does things. If you bind tsunami to briarthorn, when briarthorn attacks it has a chance of proccing tsunami.

Pets can proc the “x% chance on attack” devotion ability linked to them by using normal attacks ad well as using their own abilities.
So if you assign meteor shower to your hellhound he has a chance to proc it whenever he attacks something :slight_smile:

Actually devotion procs assigned to pets will scale with pet stats. This might not seem obvious at a casual glance since devotion skill stats will only ever show you values from your character’s perspective, but if you’ve played any kind of summoner at length the results will tell you otherwise.

This is an important mechanic for any hybrid summoner build.

Devotion procs that are assigned to skills that can have multiple pets out will have separate cooldowns for each pet as well. This really only applies to Thermite Mines (spawns 3), Wind Devil, and Blade Spirit.

As an aside, note that there are two kinds of pets - player stat-scaling pets (eg. the Wind Devil, Blade Spirit) and pet stat-scaling pets (eg. Occultist pets).

You can treat a devotion skill as part of a pet’s skillset when you assign it to them, so they will also scale with player stats/pet stats where appropriate.
