a few questions re: equipment, bonuses, etc.

I feel like I should know this stuff already, but evidently I don’t since I am making this post. LOL

1. In general, would you always trade a magic item in for an epic one, or is it still compare everything stat by stat?

2. If an item says “+58% Acid Damage”, does that mean it automatically takes your total damage(not including itself), and tacks on 58% of that in acid damage, OR does it mean IF there is already acid damage present, it adds in 58% on top of it? (I hope that made sense)

3. When you float your mouse over an item and it says your DPS goes up by 20 points or whatever, is that just physical damage, or does that include the various magical properties present in said item?

1. Stat by stat. Magic items can have very good resist, especially in the early levels of the game

2. Option 2. All damage bonuses are added together before they are applied.

3. All damages combined.
