I wouldnt even wonder, if we never get to hear a release date. I’d rather expect something more subtle in “Zantai-Style”. next Misadvanture he says “Don’t know what you are waiting for, expansion is in store since whenever”
Yeah, that sounds like something he’d do. Especially given the unceasing questions re a release date. Quietly put it out and then let you all find out about it on your own. Sneaky.

The expansion will ship with two new classes the Inquisitor and the Necromancer. While not purely aether, both do have aether skills, allowing for more combinations with our favourite corrupting magic essence.

To be honest, there’s no reason not to. The game is successful and almost universally liked among arpg fans.
In my opinion their time and resources would be better spent elsewhere, GD is built upon a pretty dated engine so adding “game changing” stuff requires a lot of effort
Imo they should get on with other games and “recharge” their batteries for a sequel
it may be dated, but it’s also fun. There’s plenty of “new and modern” engines around, they’d probably end up copying POE or something like that.
I like GD with its antiquated TQ engine. The only thing that’s sort of meh is the way armor works in this game. it never felt right, even at TQ.
