A recipe for Chipped Claw

Chipped Claw is commonly used as a crafting ingredient and as a weapon component but is somewhat rare and doesn’t have a crafting recipe. Scavenge Plating on the other hand is rarely used as an ingredient or as a component but it has a recipe.
I think there should be a recipe for Chipped Claw using Scavenged Plating so that it will have more uses.

Blueprint: Chipped Claw

Ingredients:

  • Aether Crystal(1)
    Scavenged Plating(1)
    Polished Emerald(1)

Crafts:

  • Chipped Claw

Or some groups of monsters somewhere with above-average chances of dropping very specifically chipped claws or defending a specific chest with a guaranteed chipped claw.

Or to switch the requirement for chipped claws of some recipes to some others that are generally much less used, like emerald, searing amber or scavenged plating.

Or check merchants like Benevald.

The problem is that Benevald doesn’t always sell chipped claws and when he does he only sells one part of the whole component.

That could also give the other components the love that they deserve but I still think that Chipped Claws should have their own recipe.

I have 76 chipped claws alreeady they are farmable in any beast left side of devil’s crossing has lots of cronleys gang and beasts farm it on beasts there

The problem is the sheer quantity of them you need for certain recipes. Ones like Badge of Masteries that need a full 20 and that you’ll likely craft multiple times.

I agree that it is annoying that you need like 48 chipped claws to craft Oleron’s Blood for example. You also need 36 Ectoplasms to get Haunted Steel, which is more annoying in my opinion since Ectoplasm is harder to farm and is never sold by Benevald as far as I know.

That in itself is not a problem for me. What makes it a problem is the fact that we may not separate a component from an item without destroying one of them, which makes testing and playing around components and weapons much harder.

Please devs, do something about it. The chipped Claw problem is ending all the fun of this game.
The amount of chipped Claws needed to make items is huge and they do not drop in the required amount, no matter how long you play.
Lately the game for me is being in and going straight to farm chipped claws and do nothing else.
Solving this should be at the top of the list of priorities.

I don’t think the problem is necessarily chipped claws or the drop rate of them. Furthermore, I don’t think the solution to fixing the chipped claw issue would be solved by basically just giving away chipped claws or allowing people to craft them. Rather, I think, the solution can be solved by

  1. Changing the formulae for various things like blood of oleron/relics to include other components like serrated spikes, battered shells, etc.

  2. Make blood of oleron quarter components drop from dismantling legendaries/epics.

  3. Make badge of mastery drop as a monster infrequent from some hard to reach or infrequently spawning boss or just as a regular legendary that can both be crafted and be found.

Yes, the biggest problem of the chipped claw is that it takes 48 to make an oleron’s blood, which does not drop monsters and is the most used component of the game. This hurts a lot the diversity of components that is one of the main aspects of the game, is what sets this game apart. Any of the above solutions is optimal as long as it does not continue. The way it is now farming components is just like farming chipped claws.

How about if a blacksmith can crafting components trades same way Horrus can do it with materials?

For instance:
1 Chipped Claw = 5 Polished Emerald + 1000 iron bits.

Same logic for Ectoplasm.

I thought in Polished Emerald because to me is a very common component, I have like 800+ of them. This can be a way to use them.
