Honestly, this devotion capstone is very powerful, but it’s never there when you need it the most - against tough bosses without other mobs. Has anyone incorporated it into a successful build?
I was planning to make an all chaos build around it, but this will completely destroy my damage against bosses due to losing the conversion and switching back to physical. This makes the ability extremely unreliable to use, especially against the hardest content of the game.
I really think that a capstone ability should be powerful & reliable and not a gimmic. Can the “on Kill” trigger be replaced with something else, even if the numbers of the ability need to be adjusted?
I think that goes for every build though- Grim Dawn is more than any other ARPG a challenge of balancing vs. boss and vs. trash builds. The two are VERY different.
there is no CC in the game that works on bosses
HP reduction does not work on bosses
boss resists are sometimes through the roof
make sure to wait out your timers lol
In most ARPGs CC effects simply last a much shorter time, in GD that time is 0.00 seconds
I’ve had some AMAZING toons (especially caster and melee hybrids) that have to be retired (destroyed and rebuilt as something else entirely) because a build that clears the whole map near instantly doesn’t do anything at all to some bosses. Still the best ARPG around though, so i will continue to respec haha.
I wish it had a different activation like on Attack or on Crit. Even if they had to adjust the stats for that, it would still be better than just on enemy death.
This will not work.
Once you take enemy in mind control they stop being enemies and become allies.
And as you remember, the condition to activate the proc is “enemy death”, not ally.
I have. And it works. I bound Raise the Dead (which also procs on enemy death) to Savagery. Once I mind controlled an enemy with Empowered Devil’s Charm and killed it with Savagery attacks, it spawned a skeleton. Mind controlled enemies seem to be immune to your AoE attacks however so it only seems to work with direct, targeted attacks.
