About multiple beam ray builds

You mean with the auto-snapping behavior? Not really, and even if that were the case the boss would still get hit thanks to multiple beams :grinning:

What’s the damage type? Isn’t it super awkward to stack all those items in one build?

Yea it would be insane, but at least you still profit from the extra damage on the +1 beam items. If there was an item that only adds extra beams without extra dmg to AAR (so far there is no such item), I would probably not use it.

Indeed, that would confuse the heck out of everyone.

The Hallanx offhand converts almost everything to Vitality/Decay.

Hey I thought developers made the game they wanna do and not the other way around? :stuck_out_tongue:

Multi beams is totally fine and well worth it for screen clear. Yes, even numbers are more difficult to use so I recommend 3 or 5 if you can get it. Each AAR beam has a width to it where you can damage without hitting the target with the exact beam. It’s interesting to try testing on a dummy to see the width.

If beams did stack the damage would be exponential where each item beam modifier adds flat to each beam, so 3 beams would be x5-6 damage. That would be a bit OP!

so basically aether AAR builds are “dead” now because somebody wants multibeams on other damage type?

And now i have to ditch aether AAR because it has only two beams and shift to “meta” where you can stack 3 beams or more?

I don’t want to sound aggressive but this is pure craziness.

If you/developers want more damage on AAR, would not it be better to put the damage in one beam instead of forcing the players to stack beams?

You agree that 2 and 4 beams are ugly but you don’t care because you play 5 beams.

Do you think this is balanced?

Would not it be better if the number of beams would be capped at threewith narrowing the angles between them so it would be more aesthetically pleasing and balanced damage-wise?

Like +1 beam on Clairvoyant set so with Albrecht’s Commendation you have three beams and you could still play aether AAR without forcing you change the damage type/break the set, etc?

As of now no other damage type suffers from this “enhancement” as far as i can see.

Mark of Ulzuin converts lightning to fire, but obviously Albrecht’s Commendation is better if it adds another beam to your skill.

Same for this off-hand, helmet and amulet.

There goes my chaos AAR evoker project. Evokers just aren’t allowed to have nice things, are they.

Having just 1 extra beam is a strict downgrade of the skill, and looks extremely stupid. Having 2 beams (which would actually be an improvement on the skill) gets you to play the game of mismatched conversions and incompelte sets due to the way itemization is arranged.

Yes. It is single target damage not AoE that it needed. This addition is just so unnecessary.

Luckily the set does not have it.

Exactly “enhancement”.

it’s like a Pandora box.

Halanx head converts everything to Vitality AND it allows you using Clairvoyant AND you can still have the new Voidplume Crest with % Vitality damage so you have 3 beams.

Why not putting another beam on Fleshwarped Tome and/or Mythical Essence of Grim Dawn, then?

So chaos and aether AAR also have access to three beams and screw it, if you want to have 5 beams with penalty from the Aetherbolt pendant, so be it.

It has shit ADCtH by the way… And that is vitality damage which should have a lot of it.

What do you think will sell more copies of the game, more dps for single beam or multiple beams? The game is made for selling copies so devs can pay their bills. Not catering to die-hard gaming fanatics. Most ppl just wanna play something that looks awesome

AAR being able to have more than one beam made the skill far more fun.

A lot of things were not properly tested. FoA needed to be more like month in development to smooth out things, balance it and remove bugs.

Nah, it just made it clunky.

Nope, made it more fun to me.

Pretty much all I care about with multi beams. Extra aoe is just a bonus

Neither, considering the modifier is hidden and no sane person will know about it without random stumbling.

Saying game will sell more due to one skill in one mastery having multiple beams is such a big stretch i don’t even know what to say about it.

Two beams are not looking awesome in any way, it’s just ugly and awkward.

If developers insist that AAR for end-game is multibeams, i would expect to have more items allowing multi beams without breaking the core set for aether AAR.
