Reaver’s Claw does 33% piercing damage. Does this mean that 33% of the raw physical damage it deals out will be piercing?
On temporal arcblade which deals Physical + aether it has 10% piercing, does this mean 10% of the total sum of the damage types?
If i have IEE up, and have reaver’s claw equipped then IEE will only work on 67% of the raw weapon damage right (assuming 33% does indeed convert raw weapon damage into piercing)?
Armor piercing is its own stat, it’s not “Conversion”. It only applies to physical damage afaik. And as I said above, Armor Piercing is last. All other conversions happen before armor piercing.
It works like this % piercing happens after everything else.
Using your numbers the physical damage on your attacks will be converted like this : 30% aether, (70*33)=23.1% piercing and 46.9% physical.
Add on 20% fire conversion and it be: 30% aether 20% fire 16.5% piercing and 33.5% physical.
It %piercing does effect damage granted by skill attacks there’s a post by a dev that shows this is the case as with a 100% piecing 2handed sword Forcewave does pure piercing damage.
Now thinks are pretty clear for one weapon, but I don’t know what happens to spells when you have two weapons with different %armor piercing. For example dual wielding swords and casting a Grenado.
Zantai showed a two-hander weapon with 100% armor piercing, and the damage breakdown for Forcewave only showed piercing damage. Conversion works on everything, not only on weapon damage. Otherwise Warpfire would be useless.
