If we can store resources or products in a warehouse which player want will greatly improve the game experience
I’m not sure I understand what you’re saying here. But I do observe that most of our problems with the villagers not getting what they need and the factories and barns and all not getting what they need is that the fundamental problem of the game is distribution. Wagons should play a greater part in distribution of raw materials, finished goods, and foodstuffs. They should be the key element in the distribution chain. Having them horsedrawn rather than oxen-drawn would help their speed and efficiency. They should be picking up everything from one point and carrying it to the points where it is needed. Not just ores and clay and sand, but all products from all points.
I have markets that have no food in them at all. I have others that have no soap or no luxury goods. Distribution of these items should be as equitable as possible across all the markets. Likewise, the wagons should be distributing feed to the barns or the granaries adjacent to the barns. Distribution is the bottom-line imbalance in the game.

You can choose where resources are stored by UNSELECTING them from the storage facility. When looking at the storage building dialogue window, you will see check marks next to items. You can click those and unselect any item. In vs. 0.8 you can unselect a whole category of resources, like “food.”
Yeah! I just spotted that during my last session: extremely helpful little addition.
My expression may not be accurate enough. My idea is that if I can designate the hunter to store his meat in the warehouse designated by me, and then select a smokehouse worker to take the meat from the warehouse designated by me, and this smokehouse worker can store the finished smoked meat in the next warehouse designated by me, so that the workers in the downstream industry chain can also form a fixed route when they get the upstream goods. Reduce efficiency loss due to route confusion.
Similar to the “better resource management” mod of Cities:Skylines? (or whatever it’s actually called)
Would be nice to be able to manage the “accepted sources” for buildings (we only buy from Jerrod, his meat isn’t maggoty)
So, in slightly better terminology, what you’re meaning is controllable logistics chaining maybe?
That’s way clearer, thank you. Again, I maintain that it should not be individual villagers running around from here to there and back again to distribute resources and goods. This should be handled by wagons. As an alternative, of course, the plan you outline is better than what goes on right now, especially when a villager carrying a good to a destination suddenly drops it, stands there like he’s receiving instructions from outer space or The Old Ones, and then hares off in another direction, leaving the goods he dropped in the road.
yes, controllable logistics chaining
sorry,too busy to reply
You’re welcome. I like this game. I just hope it will be better
This could be easily solved if you could set in that you x good in y quantity.
Like we can set production limits. You should be able to set goods limit in storages.
Like you want to store firewood for a distant smokehouse.
You set it that, that warehouse stores 100 firewood max. This requires workers to do ofc.
Hmmm… not quite but that would probably allow for finer tuning than currently available. Actually being able to specify Resourcer-1 → Processor-1; R2–>P1; R3–>P2–>Storage-1; etc. (with an alternate “pull-from” rather than “push-to”) gives truly fine control.
Being able to set storage min-max limits per commodity within storage facilities? Yep, sounds like a good idea too!
