I am currently at 270 Hours into the game in Steam. This includes all the time I spent leveling up a few characters and two lvl 100. A few hours in farming the Twin Falls route and my own.
Thing is, I am still under the impression that this number of hours spent is still in the phase 1 of really getting a grasp of the whole game. I mean, I’m sure 270Hours in is still not enough for me to clearly fully equip different characters since I know that there are a lot of blueprints and Mythicals that I still need, hell, even my lvl 100’s are not yet BiS Equipped.
I just want to know if I am doing a decent pace for playing the game, or am I missing something? I haven’t even tried NB mastery at all. No offense though.
I just want some opinion on the matter, no biggie. Thank you!
Not sure that’s a question that can be answered. People play at different paces and have different expectations/playstyles. I expect most of the regular posters here have thousands of hours in the game; I’ve got around 2k, but that doesn’t include the time I had on Steam during early access which was lost when I switched over to a GOG version. But I only have one L100 character in all that time because I’m always trying out new build ideas so most of my characters are still in Normal.
And I learnt something in a thread here on the forum the other day that I didn’t know and found a spot I’d forgotten about when I saw it in a stream a few days ago. So I’m still learning.
So I guess I’m really still have a lot to farm and learn. I have two lvl100’s now in Ultimate, I just use them to farm Twin Falls.
Just a quick side question if you don’t mind: any advantages playing in GOG rather than Steam?
I wanna make my own build and not just rely on the great people making different ones, it makes me feel guilty to literally copy a build 100%. No offense though. I have a long way to go, I guess.
Not really. I swapped over to GOG because I wanted a DMR version of the game - I’m not that keen on Steam myself. Then, after a few weeks I was asked if I’d like to become a playtester and had to put Steam back on my PC since that’s what the devs use for testing. Go figure.
There’s no difference in the two versions except for the DMR part and if you want to mulitplay then Steam has the bigger player base to access since the game has been available there for longer. Also the forum on Steam is more lively than the GOG one if you like using those.
Try farming steps of torment instead, get some skeleton keys. The room chamber of souls has a lot of heroes. You can also tweek your build to get more damage and less damage taken from undeads.
I can easily do that, but it takes a bit more time just going there. I’m still weighing if I get more Mythicals through Twin Falls or just go for SoT. If it falls that SoT is the better, I guess I’ll just do both every time.
If you got more legendaries doing Twin Falls over time compared to SoT, then people would do Twin Falls
Also, most of the builds in the compendium here are done with GDstash where you can make any piece of gear possible. So take those builds with a grain of salt.
Wait, what? Are you serious? Like, seeing those great people make great builds? They are all products of GDStash? Are you sure? dang. I can’t make myself use GDStash for making a build, I only use GDStash for transferring Iron Bits.
The only thing that matters, is that you are enjoying yourself. There is no set pace. Do what you want with the game. Just be gentle.
I use GD Stash since the dawn of time, to stash things.
Yes, the tool can be used to cheat, I don´t do that, I assume most GD Stash users don´t. I try not to judge. As long as they are enjoying themselves, who cares? Doesn´t affect me in any way.
As for what is better, Steam or GOG, well the steam version is of course better if you want to trade, because most people use that. And it is nigh impossible to get certain items just by farming. Quite a few people trade online. Although GD Stash exists.
Hope that answers some of your questions. Have fun with GD!
only dirty minded people think that way. You dont need GD stash to succeed in gladiator. Even a person is wielding gdstashed items it is not a guarantee to win the final wave. You need a lot of luck, tons of skill and experience. Unless of course you play the OK + inquis class later on this year;)
