collect 5-10? spheres, transform it into a permanent one/GD classic "do the work once, alt chars wont have to bother"feature
But have the option present in the altar from the start, so player is aware a potential second method exists, not just when player actually already has x spheres+meat in inventory, unlike the other confusing “guessing” interaction 
*unsure if that script counts like other interactions tho, so if the perma sphere could be read from stash and not even have to carry it in inventory for alts too

Thinking about everything, i think I could settle for screen text (y’know, “The bridge is out…” at the top of the screen). A simple “Dynamite might cause an avalanche here…” would suffice ultimately. It doesn’t look like it, but games are abstractions, yadda, yadda.
Something more elaborate would be nice: the thane’s waiting for us, the Taken tries to blow through with TNT, but it just makes the pass worse, then we need an alternative solution, hence the sphere.
