Addition to agriculture and consumption

I think we need to introduce luxury food into the game in addition to basic products.

Pig farm - allows you to dispose of spoiled food, and produces meat and skin.
Poultry farm - produces chickens, eggs and feathers
Sheep farm - produces meat, milk and wool.

  • Introduce several levels of prestige for food products
Butcher’s shop - can produce sausages (both regular sausages and spicy or salami), ham, bacon, rendered lard.
Introduce several types of cheeses with different levels of prestige.

Distillery.
Several levels of prestige of alcohol - Wine. cider, brandy.
Each drink has its own value and prestige.

In addition to linen clothing, add an additional level and new items for production to textile production - woolen clothing and feather beds.

Again, woolen clothes and feather beds are a luxury item.

Add a new level to the bakery and new products made from flour, eggs and meat, or fruits, nuts and honey - meat and sweet pies, gingerbread, etc. - all these are items that increase population satisfaction and attractiveness.

Hi,
Great to read this, I really like these ideas. Not necessarily for the boost in prestige / luxury, but rather because you could be able to differentiate your settlements much more.

One settlement could be specialized in making goat cheese and producing fine linen clothes. The next one would rather make sheep sausage and produce wool shirts. Another one would distil herbal spirits and would be more famous for its fish stew.

I’m not sure how the interface would handle much more items though. But we can also think in terms of item families in which items are prepared according to different recipes.

For example, when opening the settlement’s items menu, you could see:

  • Raw meat
  • Smoked meat
  • Prepared meat

And by clicking on “Prepared meat” you could see the different types, so that the main menu would not be clogged.
“Prepared meat” could be beef sausage, pork bacon, sheep pie…

So in the end, it doesn’t really matter if you produce sausage or pâté, each would add to the “Prepared meat” family as butchering a cow adds to “Meat”. Hence, it’s just for the sake of realism and diversity.
