Aether Tendril's

I am trying to use the devotion ability Aetherfire of the Imp tree on the Aether Tendril’s ability.

Aether Tendril’s does not show up as an option, however similar abilities given by components such as Greater Fireball from Flintcore bolts do show up as an option.

Can anyone give me insight as to why?

Mb because aether tendril has 2.5 second cd.

That ability is a proc one with an “on attack” chance of activating. It means that you do not need to actively use it. You just have to link it to one of your abilities (the list of which shows when you click the ability’s node) and then whith each of those attacks there is a probability that an aetherfire ground effect activates beneath your target’s feet.

I can’t figure out why it wouldn’t let you - seems like it’d be a valid combo… that said it would be a pretty terrible place to put it given the single target nature of the tendril and the cool down. Pretty much any other ability would be a better place for Aetherfire.

I understand it’s not a really great option, but I don’t see why it won’t let me choose that option.

Other abilities with longer cooldowns given from items, such as Slam, work with Aetherfire.

I am assuming this is a bug? Hopefully it will be addressed in an upcoming patch.

Interestingly, you also can’t assign a devotion to Aether Tendril’s chaos damage counterpart, Solael’s Flame.

The issue has been brought up several times, so the devs know about it. We’re just not sure if it’s either intended or if they plan to fix it soon.

I posted a bug report about it - maybe we will get a response or see it fixed!
