Animalistic Berserkers v1.3

I am presenting the strongest builds for wolverine berserker, which are also the top trio ATM.

SAVES HERE - Animalistic Berserkers v1.3 at Grim Dawn Nexus - Mods and Community

Primalist, Level 100 (GD 1.3.0.0) - Grim Dawn Build Calculator - cold wolf, tankier than a lightning retaliation Warder, more punishing than bleed + pierce Dervish.

Dreadnaught, Level 100 (GD 1.3.0.0) - Grim Dawn Build Calculator - chaos wolf, 233% AS. Big AoE damage, big single target damage, very tanky, a dream.

Mystic, Level 100 (GD 1.3.0.0) - Grim Dawn Build Calculator - bleed + pierce meat grinder. This bad motha faka is, FOR REALZ, is the strongest build EVER CREATED/EXISTED in Grim Dawn!!! You ever saw how in D3 and D4 people teleport into huge groups of monsters, like 20-30, well ima9ine it, containin9 at least 10 elites and 5 super elites, may be even a nemesis or 2, well no problem, do it, Immediately use pox, si9il, frailty, press pox 3-4 times, all except the nemesis dies in a few seconds, nemesises in like 8 to 20, depends which, some attacks still have to be avoided, like the leaching circles of Salazin, the raining rocks, doin9 maaasive physical dama9e, which have lon9 duration and sometimes casted multiple times, coverin9 almost the whole screen, well for9ot the name of the nemesis, sorry or the shotgun of Nyarlothon, but everything else, face tank, killing in seconds, even if they are surrounded y elites and super elites, 2-3 nemesis at once, come more pls, izi, shard 35+, yea, 8+ minutes on he clock, yes, I will go make me a coffee and when return, I will still make it xD. Footage of this one looks exactly like fast pace d3/d4 gameplay.
I always wanted the d3/d4 experience, but in another 9ame, never thou9h I will 9et it 100 percent accurate in 8ase GD of all 9ames, ou my. ASCENDED, BTW.
THERE IS A CATCH THOU9H, requires extremely well mana mana9ement, he consumes mana like fat kid consumes cookies, like a russian consumes littres of vodka in seconds, like a sailor drinkin9 a 9allon of rum like it is water. Requires a lot of practice and patience, 8ut once mastered, you play only him, damn, I shouldn’t have posted it, HARD NERF INCOMIN9!!! Or may 8e that is why I posted it, thank me later, Crate Dev Team.

P.S. - The resist stats on your 9ear must 8e like 95 to 100 percent perfect, it is veeery ti9ht as comes to res. 30 strai9ht hours of pure math on this one, NO FOOD, NO WOMEN, NO DISTRACTIONS, 9ym, sorry, will sacrifice you for 1 week, don’t 8e mad at me. I lost 5 kilo9rams of pure fat in 4 days, well 9ood that I am on the juice, cause was a8out to lose hard 9ained muscle, which will make FuzzyDunlop’s(Birds) dream come true, I will kill myself :frowning:

BONUS - The strongest raven build(chaos). Warning, IT SUCKS!!!

Mystic, Level 100 (GD 1.3.0.0) - Grim Dawn Build Calculator - chaos raven, 233% CS.

And no, I haven’t tried cold raven, but as you will see how expensive and sucky chaos is → NO!!!

I also haven’t tried human form berserker builds and will not, for the moment.

Well, part of the problem with trying to run SR-36+ is that you need to stack defences hardcore while maintaining damage output. Which is why I went with Chariot of the Dead in my take. But good to see Bloodthirster helped a lot :stuck_out_tongue: As the Onslaught stacks the amulet gives Werewolf helps you to use Bloodthirster much more, in theory.

Though I think moving more points into Recklessness, and use a different set of suffixes for the medal might be a good idea:

As +%OA only really works out well if you have some flat +OA  And increasing DA shred allways helps with getting you to crit attack all enemies a bit better.

Also dumped some points into Wendigo Totem, which is a great source of heals and synergies with Heart of the Wilds bonus to sources of healing. Less points in PoA though, but with all the damage coming at you in SR36+ heals are a good source of survivability. Also, binding Whirlpool to WT means you can proc it much more regularly. Usually I bind it my main attack or a summon like Blade Spirit, though binding Whirlpool to Wind Devil and Elemental Tempest to Wendigo could also work.

Edit - oh yeah, bit brainless today, so forgot to say I worked out how to get 1 more devotion point to grab the cold node on Blind Sage :stuck_out_tongue: Just swapped points over to Eel and lo, it was possible to get it and not nerf the build, in theory.

this build has literally no gloves? I might try it tho seems fun.

I’m guessing it had “wake of the crimson moon” set gloves, which help werewolves deal bleed damage… but which aren’t actually in the game. It was a bug in Grimtools that you could select them.

Seems that bug is fixed and the gloves no longer appear.

That’s what I said. It was a bug that the gloves (but not the other items) were in grimtools, because they’re not in the game yet.

Ah, I did not know that you could spawn them with Grimtools. Fair enough.

Although from my perspective, an item that is not droppable is not really “in the game.” In the game files, sure, like cut content is in other games, but that is not the same thing.

Grimtools also allows you to make impossible combinations of affixes, or add blacksmith bonuses to items that are not craftable. That’s also not “in the game” even if you can make them using the tool.

oh I see, and what would be the alternative gloves that you can obtain in game then? generic tanky ones?

Crafted ones

Yeah, crafted ones seem a must to get decent attack speed. With affixes and the inherent bonus, they have the biggest potential boost by far.

Not to mention those “additional max attack speed” traits this build has.

Reaching 233% attack speed? That seems like… a long slot on any build. But it seems like such a waste to have the option and then not use it.

(Well, if you rely on low cooldown rip and tear it’s not that important. But still tempting)

Isn’t the version with the shield better? It’s more tanky, more physical resist, life, regen and +1 to all skills for shaman.

I have a few questions about the cold wolf Primalist build (the first one).

  1. Why do you use Implements of War to dual wield when you can use Rallying Cry’s Frenzied Cry node? Do you specifically want the little bit of bleed damage that comes with it?
  2. Why take some devotions such as Hammer when you can use points to further others to increase frostburn damage (the focus of this build) such as Murmur, Mistress of Rumors (which you didn’t complete).
  3. Lastly, what is Grasping Vines used for? Can’t you attach the celestial power to something else?

Don’t take these questions the wrong way, I’m just trying to learn things about the game and you clearly know a lot so I genuinely want to know the thought process.

Maybe I answered my own question about the devotion choices because it seems you need points in some to be able to unlock others (I still don’t understand how it works completely). But wouldn’t it be better to take away say the points from Berserker and put them into the two nodes in Amatok the Spirit of Winter that incorporate more frostburn damage and duration?

So something like this maybe? I only changed the devotion points, that’s it.

If you post builds here then players are going to ask questions about them. It’s that simple. If you don’t want to answer said questions then don’t post.

And a reminder from the FAQ: Perhaps most importantly, don’t act like a dick.

Zervos simply asked you to explain why you did certain things with the build. If you don’t think that’s meaninful to help others understand why you did them and how it make your build work then I don’t know what to say.

Ok, I will answer, but why you had to delete the answer I gave to “ShevA” as well?

Some additional damage, here and there, is always good, since my champ is build like a fortress and does not need “Rallying Cry” for healing himself.

Because I will lose armor and 4% phys res, which are way more important of some +% cold dam. Defense always beats damage , unless we talk some astronomical damage numbers, which we fortunately do not have in base GD, only in mods for GD.

Shortly, because “Rip and Tear” SUCKS!!! and I need a skill to constantly trigger blizzard.

As I mentioned “Rip and Tear”, the only thing it can be used for is mobility, but yet the charge the medal runes are providing and leap are more than enough. Put one more and you are playing a “piano” build.

“Rip and Tear”, in my opinion, needs a complete rework, like some AoE skill, where for example the wolf rages and his rage damages everything in 5 metter radius around him. Can be used for shotgunning, after you gain “Onslaught” stacks using “Feral Claws”, well, that is IF you have modifier on an item, which allows “Feral Claws” to generate “Onslaught” stacks.

Rip and Tear does suck, I agree. It’s completely buggy imo. Thanks for taking the time to answer, that helped me understand a lot.

It’s possible! If you divert points from somewhere else to Form of the beast, this one I’ve been tinkering on can crank it up to 250%:

Nope, only wastes the true potential of the build

Love how you went all in on the wolverine archetype! Been doing the same myself and have pushed a Occultist+Berserker Chaos Wolf to the extreme having cleared Ravager, Calla, Crate & SR 30+.

Big shoutout to Man on youtube who posted this that gave me the basis of the build
Solo Mog

However I was looking at Wereravens deleting bosses in a minute or less LOL and I think there is a ways to go before Crate even think of nerfing us wolverines hehe. Keep it up man I especially love the Apoclypton one, the moment I saw the set I was thinking I should have picked Demo as 2nd mastery xD
