Anyone playing Pure Builds?

Just curious if people are trying this and if so what they are trying

I can imagine either Shaman or Occultist might work as pure builds. At least if you add a second mastery, don’t put points in any skills but into the mastery bar for survivability.

Played a pure Arcanist PRM build for a while, but it got quite boring by level 60 so I switched it up.

It’s been discussed several times before. Do a search.

Bottomline is that people seem to have found builds that work well as “pure” for everything except Demolitionist. It’s all about having most of the skills you need for a particular build in just one mastery. An Occultist summoner stacking HP from gear, for example, works well because there are a LOT of good Occultist skills and because it doesn’t need anything else from other masteries.
Such builds are few, but they exist. Not for beginners, you need to know your way around augments, components and devotions for these to work.

Appreciated insight, and for the record I did a search (multiple in fact), but the search engine favors shorter wording to my queries and I was short of time

Every time I try to do a pure build I end up always using 1 or 2 skills from the other class for the best synergy.

If these builds exist they really should be in the compendium.

Interesting. I have a Demo mixed with Shaman, and what he has from Shaman is the regen/hp stuff.

Game becomes tedious around act 4 elite

I don’t think anyone’s actually made a build guide for one, just posted vids/pics/data of them running ultimate/end game content with a solo mastery class.

The thing about Demo is that it relies heavily on numbers and player skill to succeed. It’s a lot like Arcanist in that it’s something of a glass cannon mastery, except Arcanist has all these neat passives and can simply stack HP regen/lifesteal/etc. from items and constellations to match Vindictive Flame. In the case of Demo, there is no simple equivalent that matches the protection of Maiven’s and the offense/utility granted by Arcanist passives. You’ll have to rely on gear/constellations to overcome that, and so far no one’s been interested in doing it.

All the single mastery builds I’ve played only start to slow down around mid-ultimate. Overleveled skills have tendency to overperform and everything pre-ultimate just gets destroyed. It’s only when you start to run out of good skills to level that these builds only start to slow down, but for some masteries that’s not the case.

It’s boring to play pure build imho;)
