Are Pet MIs lacking in pet resistance and damage conversions?

So… I have been working on a classless pet build for fun and something I noticed while building it was that Pet MIs, even though they provided plenty of skill points, offensive stats and such, you still had to rely on a handful number of legendaries (some of which are also set pieces) for most of the damage conversions and pet resistances.

Personally, I think sprinkling a bit more, especially conversions, might be a good thing and encourage more use of MIs without them requiring +%total damage mods and such :yum:

Also, no hand or feet or chest MIs available for pets (as in monster drops, not faction items and such).

I don’t really build with greens, so not sure how others feel about it. Any input is much appreciated, ty

I recently made this thread about missing pet conversions,

this was before I made my mogdrogen peace set warder, which i think will be good with just bleeding to physical dmg swap as per 1.1.9.2 patchlist

I still hold that mythical mogdrogen sigil is very boring item that could be interesting with conversion to physical, as well as mark of bloody ends seems overshadowed by other medals and might be interesting with pierce conversion.

I don’t know of any green MIs that could be eligible for receiving such conversions, also I thought hand/feet MIs don’t exist.

Hence why I am asking for them :stuck_out_tongue:

but they don’t exist for non pet builds either right? like they are not allowed for those slots.

Yeah, but I don’t think it is due to some balancing reasoning. They do have Craftable items, so you can get affixes. Ofcourse, those craftables aren’t pet items by default obviously.

We need this, pierce pets 4 lyfe brotha volcano master.

I’d like to see a few more options for pet conversions at low/mid levels as well. Most of the time, I find that I end up using a Korvaak’s Burning-Blade and go Elemental for anything Fire/Cold/Lightning until I can equip the right Legendaries to specialise in say Cold or Lightning pets if that’s what my plan is. Even when levelling a build swapping into Chaos pets at 94 I went Fire because it shares the same RR as Eldritch Fire and the 100% Fire conversion on a Blade is higher than Consecrated Blade’s 45% Chaos conversion :man_shrugging:.

was fiddling with a (silly) pet idea
halfway through leveling it occurred to me to maybe just put 20% thought into it and actually look up the necessary item for it existed
turns out, not really, because obvious boner boi bigotry :triumph:

brief summary of available pet vitality conversion:
5x Vit->ele or mono ele, 2x items for vit-> acid, 1 item for vit->chaos, and nothing in between
obviously there is a heavy ele conversion bias “because pets”
what really bummed me out tho, is that aside from these 3 conversion types, heavily dominated by ele, there is no way to really take advantage of Necro’s skeleton’s native vitality dmg in conjunction with other with other Aether conversion items that do exist
Aether RR is a giant pita on pet build anyway, so doesn’t seem like it’s something that’s gonna be OP as hecking if skele squad could convert more than a fraction of their dmg??
granted my idea was also leaning into silly stuff to begin with, but comn, can’t we get more than generic vit->elemental conversion still fitting the “Necro theme” :weary:

alright so it’s not exactly an MI

how about 50%(-100%?) Vitality dmg converted to aether for pets?
considering it has like basically no pet stats whatsoever outside conversion, it doesn’t seem like adding another conversion would bloat it, and would keep it in line with the pre existing stats and the whole aether theme ?
