AssetManager: Databases show up, but Sources and Assets don't.

I’ve extracted all of the game files, as explained in the mod tools manual, and the game Databases show up fine in the AssetManager, but, even though the Sources and Assets seem to have extracted fine, nothing shows up in either of those tabs in the AssetManager except the default root directory (“source” or “assets”). The extraction of the Game Files itself completes without errors, and I’ve tried it multiple times, just in case. I am using the default Working, Build, and Tools directories (ie. the directory where Grim Dawn is installed).

Any idea what could be going on here?

When you extract the game files, they extract to the ‘resources’ folder. ‘assets’ are links to ‘resources’, which are created via ‘sources’. You could make a new folder in the default GD directory called ‘sources’ and copy/paste the resources into there. It’d probably work, I think, in getting them to show up in the Asset Manager.

Copying “resources” into “source” gets the Source files to show up, but Assets still don’t show up. I tried copying the *.arc files from “resources” into a folder called “assets”, but still nothing shows up under Assets.

As I said, assets are links to resources. They aren’t really anything of interest. If you really wanted them from the base game for some ungodly reason, right click the sources in the Asset Manager and select ‘Auto-Create Asset’.

FYI there is literally no reason to make assets from vanilla game files. Mods which don’t replace them use the vanilla ones by default.
