Attaching Fissure to Mortar Trap or Mines

What happens when I bind an “x% change on attack” proccing AOE Devotion such as Fissure to an AOE skill like Mortar or Mines? There is no radius listed for the range, only a radius for the damage effect itself. So my hope is that as long as the mortar is up, each mini-bomb from the mortar has a chance to proc Fissure for even more flaming AOE destruction, especially since the Mortar is pretty much fire-and-forget with a long duration. With all the screen effects of my Pyro, it’s hard to tell if it’s working, hence the question for the hardcore theorycrafting types, so thanks for looking. I guess the question would be essentially the same if I chose to bind to Hellfire Mines, but would they only have a chance to proc when first triggered (stepped on) or any time they do damage to a mob?

It will % proc per “tick”/second from thermite or per bomb from Mortar. The best way to my knowledge to proc fissure is BWC with or without transmuter.

The only advantage to putting it on Mortar is that it’s a summon so each of the traps will have it’s own chance to proc fissure per projectile. but due to the low reload time, CD on fissure and low prc chance you will never have more than 2 Fissures at a time. BWC can go above that.

Of course each attack from the mortar has a chance to proc it (assuming CD has passed) it would be dumb if it could only proc it once per summon. The proc chance is per enemy hit and like Super said so each trap has it’s own fissure proc/cooldown.

Side note that thermite mines have a neat interaction with with devotions. Not each set of 3 mines, but each individual mine is it’s own individual entity/pet with it’s own cooldowns. It’s extraordinarily rare, but you could proc a devotion ability 6 times at once with 2 sets of mines :stuck_out_tongue:

And that is really crazy with swirling powers like Flame Torrent

I tried Thermites with Fiend and I expected more to be honest. they could use some radius increase porc purposes at least

Can confirm that. I have tested binding Elemental Storm to Termite Mines - result was a lot of elemental tornadoes

Thanks folks. BWC just isn’t for me in a ranged build, and this is a ranged char. Same with Flame Torrent, for different reasons. I might try binding Fissure to Mines instead of Mortar, but I really like tossing Mortar+Fissure into the next room and everything dies while I fight elsewhere.

On a related note, is there any radius limit on XP gains or will I get credit when anything dies in the same zone?
