Quick question:
Cold infiltrator, close to 100% WPS:
Why do so many people use shard of beronath instead of more useful stuff (cold stone)? Beronath won´t hit most of the time anyway…
THX!

Beronath shard is an attack replacer which means it stacks with WPS multiplicatively.
And cold stone does not so?
Coldstone offers just damage, Beronath’s Shard offers an auto-attack-replacer on top of damage bonusses, which deals more damage than the default attack and can also trigger WPS.
When you proc a WPS, the WD of the WPS will get multiplied with the WD of the skill which has triggered it.
(Default attack: 100%WD -> x1 ; Beronath’s Fury: 114% WD -> x1,14)
Example: Beronath’s Fury triggers a WPS with 150% WD, then the actual WD you deal will be 1,5x1,14=1,71 -> 171% WD
People use that to enhance their damage on WPS heavy builds.
I see.
Thanks a lot for the explanation!
What about someone who uses OFF, SS, AAB and SS a lot with auto attacks just filled in during their CDs and has Execute only as a WPS? Would BF still be useful?
No. You’re talking about a cooldown based spellbreaker I’m assuming.
In which case most of your damage should come from SS, RoS, ABB. You should not even invest in WPS except for execution.
You also shouldn’t use OFF.
But this is if you want an elite top tier build - feel free to do whatever.
You should also know that SS breakers are almost impossibly hard to gear for, but they are one of the strongest class combinations.
Thank you.
I see now that you’re talking about an infiltrator.
I suppose my point still stands: the best way to play it is as a caster - i.e. offhand + rune of hagarrad, chillspikes, maybe a gun to proc ABB/LA
Or to play it purely as an autoattacker.
Splitting yourself between the 2 makes you a jack of all trades, but a master of none.
