Aura of Conviction - clarify what burn reduction is

Aura of Conviction is a Exclusive skill for Inquisitor class. It gives many properties but the last one is “reduction in burn duration”. Is this (1) a reduction when my inquisitor inflicts a burn? Or is it (2) a reduction in the duration of burns inflected TO my inquisitor by monsters?
