New to GD, and I keep seeing people mention auto attack. Searched everywhere and didn’t find what auto attack actually entails. Do you just push a button to toggle your character automatically attacking anything on screen?
I hear it in the context of being able to get off a couple auto attacks before having to run from a boss. How’s this work?
It refers to the simple unmodified click attack, when you bind the basic attack to LMB (or an auto attack replacer like Fire Strike or Cadence) and hold down LMB to attack repeatedly.
Why is it called auto attack? Don’t most if not all ARPGs repeat an attack while holding the mouse down? I don’t know of any that requires you to click repeatedly to perform an action beyond skills that have a cooldown.
well there are builds that rely a lot on that auto-attack (or replacement skills that work the same way, but stronger) and there are builds that rely on cooldown based skills. so it sort of makes sense to use “auto attack” as a general desciption in contrast to a nuke/cooldown based build.
Interesting. This is the first ARPG that I’ve played in which people refer to the primary attack as that. Thanks for clarifying I thought I was missing some badass feature or something…
