Back in GD after a long pause, with a question regarding cadence.

Hey guys, started again with a witchblade and noticed that the third hit of cadence can also proc Marcovian’s advantage and Zolhan’s technique. Im pretty sure im not seeing things, just wondering when did this change happened.

Also does it proc on nightblade’s dual wield techniques now?

Cadence still overrides any wps on the third hit (definitely seeing things) and that includes nightblade wps.

I mean im hitting the dummy and clearly sometimes i see the zolhan or MA animations play for the third hit and deal the bonus damage.

I kinda feel stupid and curious at the same time  Anyway thanks for the clarification.

It may look like(you are not crazy:) ) that but it’s not the actual WPS

Cheers, that was literally eating me. So pretty much, you get the animation but none of the bonuses. Still makes you feel good to see this overhead strike though.

Yeah, I think that was the intention.

I remember Zantai mentioning at some point that how a skill “feels” has a huge impact on how its strength is perceived. The example involved Titan Quest and feedback on a skill more on its look and feel rather than it’s damage (which was actually 0 at the time, funnily enough).

This is especially great for new players who don’t really understand the mechanics to feel much stronger without getting an OP combination.

Other than that, it’s satisfying but a bit disappointing when you realize you didn’t actually “proc” the skill.

It’s better to distinguish between attacks (the animation and any hits during the attack) and hits (the individual strike or strikes making up the attack) when explaining Cadence.

Cadence overrides hits. It does NOT override attacks. Therefore it is better to say it may override 1 hit from a nightblade WPS attack.

You can have any WPS attack with 1 of the hits overridden by Cadence.
In the case of a multi-hit attack ie AQC - You would see the AQC animation with only 1 hit (first during the attack) overridden by cadence. This is only noticeable by the hit damage, and the fact that the cadence icon was primed before the attack.

I found this out while testing my Blademaster before AoM was released, and then confirmed when testing my Silverbolt tactician with storm spread.

So Sikkens, if you are only making 1 hit during the WPS attack then you only get the Cadence effect. If you make multi-hits during the WPS attack then the first hit gets the Cadence effect and the remainder(s) are normal as per the WPS proc.
