Backed Grim Dawn as soon as I heard it's from the developers of Titan Quest

Good day, Titan Quest Loyalists.

I’m sure most of the backers here are Titan Quest players, who have been impressed with TQ + Exp as much as I was and am and will be.

I backed this project as soon as I heard that the ex-employees of Iron Lore Studios are working on this spiritual successor to TQ.

Unfortunately, at the time of backing, I didn’t have enough fund in reserve and was just able to place an order for the basic $20 version.

I also prefer to wait for the completed game, and hence, haven’t really upgraded the backing tier yet, and furthermore, I’m only interested in the full game and not the extras. (Unless someone wants to convince me to upgrade with compelling reason(s) ASAP.)

From what I’ve heard or read from the forum, the Alpha seems to be good. I hope the full game will be even better. And I have confidence in the developers, since they made my favourite ARPG of all time.

Will humbly wait with patience for the full game.

Thank you if anyone is reading my post.

Hi and welcome to the forums - there are plenty of TQ players here but there is always room for one more. I hope you enjoy Grim Dawn when it is released.

I don’t think you need to be convinced to anything - it’s a completely valid and understandable standpoint. If you look at the alpha-subforums in here, you’ll find many people run into bugs and problems with the game. Far less than in other alphas, since the game engine itself is from TQ and has already gone thorugh a lot of bugfixing - but maybe enough to sour the experience if you want a perfectly working game.

Alpha is also not very long right now - you are lvl18 when you played through all the available content, and you can’t go any further than lvl25 (temporary hard-cap). To get more than maybe 10-15 hours of enjoyment out of the game, you need to be willing to play through that piece of content repeatedly again with different masteries, or to do Bossruns for items, without gaining any further XP.

People who love to do exactly that can have hundreds of hours of fun with the alpha right now, especially since despite this being an alpha, combat is very smooth and enjoyable already. But this surely isn’t the right thing for everyone. Depending on your personal taste and preferred way of playing, you might have more fun waiting on the finished game and only playing it then. Everything you could play now is pure spoilers

So it’s really your own free choice, dependent on your own preferences, and no one else can tell you whether you should upgrade or not.

Yay, another one joins the cult.

Welcome, and thank you for your support.

Welcome. Enjoy the community here. A lot of friendly folks who like to share ideas productively. Look forward to reading yours.

Cheers.

Haha did the same thing when I heard it was from the TQ guys so you’re not alone! If I were you I’d just enjoy the streams if you don’t plan on backing more (it’s what I do until beta is out.)

Thanks, guys. I’m glad to join this wonderful community and I’m happy to meet people who liked TQ as much as I liked it.

Welcome to the forum. There’s plenty of TQers here enjoying both games.

If you’re still playing TQ then www.titanquest.net is still an active forum. Not many of us, but we’re still enjoying playing and discussing the game, builds, etc.

hello, i too am here cause of hearing it’s made by ppl from TQ.
I heard about the game some time ago & knew it wasn’t going to be out any time soon.
so i guess i’ll just sit back & see whats up.

Got a new laptop. Installing Titan Quest + IT again now, while waiting for GD.
