I don’t think it’s the appropriate time for a trailer… a preview of various animations/effects in action maybe, but a trailer usually has somewhat complete gameplay - medierra suggests the game is broken and incomplete in parts (see the pre alpha thread), a trailer of that wouldn’t do much good, I think the screenshots are perfect for grabbing fans.
I’m not expecting a “trailer” til at least the alpha is out. But a preview of various things (day/night cycle, enhanced spell effects, dof, etc) is more likely.

Lol, I really was just joking about the 1000 member thing but I guess now I’m going to have to hold myself to it. Honestly, I said that only because I thought I’d have some sort of video out way before that. I keep thinking I’m going to do the video in a week or two but things keep coming up to delay it. On the upside, those things tend to be awesome new features, new art, and other improvements that I want to wait to get in the video.
We won’t be releasing a trailer or anything of that magnitude though. As Assylum suggested, we will start by releasing a bunch of small clips over time that show things like the weather system, destructible objects, environments, small clips of combat, etc. Bits and pieces of the game are looking really nice but overall the game is still unfinished and unpolished, so a long continuous video of gameplay wouldn’t look as good.
Is that necessary?

That is indeed the Magistrate’s Censor - good memory! That just makes it a magical piece of scrapmetal though.
And, yes, we have “retired” the old screenshots. We’ve had a problem with game websites using the old screenshots instead of the news ones and I’m sure you can imagine why we’d want to prevent that.
Haven’t viewed it from that point … I personally enjoyed to see the progress you’ve made when comparing old to new screens. Make some fresh ones, if you
revisit
those places.
