assuming i have a weapon dealing 100 damage and the weapon convertes 20% into ice damage …
I do: 80 physical and 20 ice damage … right?
So If my cunning stat improves damage by 20% and my spirit improves damage by 30% … how much do I do? Weapon with a high convert rate means, that even as a pure melee fighter I would need to invest in spirit and not cunning?
If it comes to skill … even confuses me more:
Primal strike states 105% weapon damage, 18 physical and 7-21 lightning damage … so I’ll be doing 105 damage (of what type? physical?), 18 physical and 7-21 lightning? My cunning will improve the 18 physical and my spirit the 7-21 lightning? What about the 105% weapon damage? Are the fixed? Improved by … what?
Same with Fire strike … 100% weapon damage + 4 fire + 4% physical … whats the sense of 4% physical? Why not directly 104% weapon damage than? How is this calculated if your weapon converts phys. into ice?
20% of the 18 physical damage will be converted to ice before the bonuses of cunning and spirit will be applied.
Any changes from conversion and all bonuses are applied, as if you did a basic weapon attack (i.e. not use a skill). Just that you do 5% more damage.
You weapon might not do 100% physical damage, so the +4% only increase your physical damage:
You are using a dagger or scepter, which does not deal any physical damage.
You are using a weapon with x% pierce damage, which basically converts that fraction from physical to pierce damage. And that would be in addition to the 20% conversion to ice damage.
Your weapon or other items (e.g. components) add flat damage, which is not physical.
