As we know, pets attack random targets if they’re spawned in the middle of the group. Sometimes they choose the furthest, sometimes the closest. I’d love to see their behaviour changed to attack the target they’re spawned at, followed by the target that the character attacks and then the target they were commanded to attack. So basically, if Wind Devil will be spawned on Aleksander’s face, it’ll stay on his face until the target doesn’t die, but if the player commands the Wind to attack a Reflective hero, it will go for it ignoring the fact player attacks Aleksander and it was spawned on him. If the target that the Wind attacked dies, Wind Devil will not seek for the closest target, or random target, but instead will attack the target character (we talk about the player here, of course) attacks. If the target (Aleksander) dies, Wind Devil will go for a random enemy, since the player doesn’t do anything now, but if the character attacks a new target, different than the Wind’s one - it’ll help the player straight away.
It’s annoying when you have to focus a particular enemy, but the pet doesn’t give a single fuck about that and waits till you command it what to do, attacking other trash monsters.
Devotion pets:
The same behaviour as above, but here, if the devotion pet was summoned via a curse or other type of DoT skill, it’ll continue to attack the cursed target and only wait for the command to be changed. This means, if Arcane Currents were summoned via the Haunt relic, and the Haunt attacks Mogdrogen, they’ll focus him rather than the target the caster is attacking or the random enemy. If they will be commanded to attack the boar Mogdrogen summoned, they will do that. If the target dies, they’ll go for a random enemy.
Right now it’s a massive loss of DPS or debuffs - you have to remember to command the pet no matter what. The “pet attack” command takes a slot on your skill bar - it doesn’t affect summoners since they have to command them anyway, as it’s the only damage source they have, but for a shaman that relies on the debuff on Wind Devil it’ll be a massive waste of time to command it back to the main target, when we completely forget about or when we’re in serious trouble and are unable to command the pet. Let’s also take in account that Wind Devils are pretty slow and if we forget about them being retarded, we might waste much health while attacking a boss/nemesis or other stuff in a big wave of monsters.
Hope to see some kind of fix on this.
