Hello guys.
http://grimcalc.com/build/FKwVYN
Will this work?
Devotions is pretty hard with this one, i guess u need Berserkers but there is not really that much good axes for this build.
Maybe should use somekind of two-hander?
Help pls.
And yeah, pls, post your own bleed based builds.
I have no idea if that will help you, anyway :
There was that Trickster build, which looks exellent at Boss/Nemesis killing (there’s a video, somewhere in this thread)
I know of 2 legendary axes that seem good for bleeding build :
- Brutallax
-
Butcher of Burrwith
If you plan on getting the “berserker” constellation.
There’s also this set : “Wildblood Vanguard” with a 2h Crusher, which may be more suited to a Warder (i don’t know, just giving ideas here)
For Devotion, people seem to be quite certain you must have The Huntress (for “Rend”) because you will need the debuff at higher diffculties (or just to make undead bleed)
Some more with bleeding-oriented bonus :
Falcon : great power at max level when you can “shotgun” it at close range.
Fox
Mogdrogen the wolf
Unknown Soldier
Bat
Berserker
Of course, you can’t have them all I guess. You may need some defensive bonus, so just pick the 2 or 3 you want (+ huntress, must have) and then it will all be a question of gear anyway, playing through ultimate mode.
thank you, that helps. Thou i think trickster is too damn squishy. And blade arc+laceration looks better for bleed build? What does nightblade can give for same quality of bleed dmg?
It is indeed. But, you don’t really play it like you would play a Warder, I think.
If you have enough Bleeding damage, you can just hit a target, apply the dot (and procs granted by your weapons) and move on to another target, blinking with Shadow Strike, a bit like “Fire and Forget” kind of thing. So yes, you don’t face-tank everything.
Your base build is solid (though I wouldn’t have invested so much in Blitz+Blind Side, I tend to only use it as a gap-closer/opener; but it will surely work your way, comboing it with Blade-Arc)
You might want to put 1 point in Grasping Vines and/or Wendigo Totem, just so you can attach devotion powers to them. But, that depends on your devotion choices, you might not need it.
Concerning Nightblade, apart from the dual-wielding :
Pneumatic Burst (self-healing, total speed)
Anatomy of Murder (Passive, %Cunning and %Bleeding damage boost).
You also have (if you push the mastery bar to 40) :
Ring-Of-Steel + Circle-Of-Slaughter (decent AoE, Stun, more crit damage)
Blade-Trap + Devouring-Blades (nice crowd-control, though useless against bosses ; apparently said to boost bleeding damage a lot when used correctly)
But the real thing is the dual-wielding and a high attack speed : you apply/refresh your dots faster (and procs on your weapons if they grant any)
I honnestly have no idea which is the “best” and if there’s any. Warder and Trickster are very different and even their own respective Bleeding Specialization can be built in different ways.
Warder gameplay can be more direct : Pull a pack with devouring Swarm, Blitz into it, Wipe them all with Blade Arc…
Trickster would require a more cautious approach, using Grasping Vines and Devouring Swarm before going melee…
As I said earlier, itemization is what makes a build shine in ultimate (or not), most of the time.
You may want to look into the Build Compedium Archives, I remember there were several builds from Early-Access that were quite impressive (just to get a general idea, some of them may be out-dated)
If you want to compare blade arc with nightblade skills, compare damage per second. Blade arc at 26/16 has 221 over 3 seconds, 74 bleeding damage per second. Thats roughly equal to circle of slaughter with 213-275 / sec, 71-92 / sec. Nightblade also has phantasmal blades and blade spirits if you want to play more caster or don’t have gear. There is also anatomy of murder passive. Soldier has more hp, armor and DA.
The trick is to stack as many bleed procs from gear, skills and devotion as you can, simultaneously. Weapons like Brutallax with 120/sec and Bloodsong with 200 something / sec shine here. Combining gear and skill procs makes trickster a serious boss killer. And bleeding builds don’t kill trash very fast, though rend on grasping vines or devouring swarm can wipe out crowds etc they do not do that as fast as some fire strikers or lightning shamans for example.
You probably underestimate evasion and fumbling in nightblade: I facetank Fabius with that even though it is not necessary. Its just enough to stack procs and run away. Repeat it 1-3 times and anything drops dead, sans clones in the secret quest because of their Maivens. Shadow dance grants evasion and circle of slaughter - fumbling.
Undead since latest nerfs to rend are a bit of a struggle. Champions and bosses and tough mobs like golems aren’t just because you will hit them more than once anyway and stack many procs, its trash that is tiresome to kill. When relying on bleed only you need at least two debuffs running on every skeleton for them to even start taking damage. It is worth it to have at least some direct damage for that, I keep execution and other passive procs in DW build for example.
(I’m new so please excuse any stupidity below…)
What about vitality damage? Do undead have uber resistances to that too?
If not, it seems as though a Trickster would have some bonuses to vitality damage that might help. Devouring Swarm, Wendigo Totem, on of the PB modifiers (if you are feeling caster-y)…
A bleed/vitality Trickster might be a lot of fun and not be quite as squishy with the totem, DS health return, and Pneumatic Burst.
For what it’s worth I’m running a Bleed Trickster, but I’ve chosen ranged over melee.
Devouring Swarm, Grasping Vines, Heart of the Wild and Primal Bond from Shaman.
Phantasmal Blades, Blade Spirit and Pneumatic Burst/Shadow Dance from Nightblade.
I’m currently in the late 40s running around with a Scarlet Marksman (active reduces Bleed Resist, stacks) and a Stake-Thrower (AoE Bleed from active). Grasping Vines makes kiting super easy and procs Falcon Swoop like mad. I have Rend on Devouring Swarm as well. Haven’t actually made it to Blade Spirit yet.
Planning on having the empowered versions of my current rifles plus a Gutripper for bosses. Only issue I’ve had was with reflect mobs and poor timing. Thankfully I have Blade Barrier!
Being ranged with kiting tools makes the “squishy” feel of a Trickster less of an issue.
Let say, i dont really want to be range, i just want to build all around blade arc. Maybe i am missing something? Can you guys tell me what is blade arc really made for? It hase tonn of bleed and even is circle of slaughter is better for bleedin, then im sill not intrested in it, because of cooldown.
Unless there is RANGED weapon with +acr blade
Max squad tactic for attact speed
hey dude i’ve got a very similar build but with the blade spirit ( i recommend it). In so far as weapons go you wanna straight swap out scarlet for gutripper (at least until you get empowered- which i dont have yet). The reason being gutrippers proc is super awesome. mine does somewhere around 13000 over 3 secs for and hits every single mobster that gets critted, which is most all of them due to blade traps minus DA. add in the big ol bleed from blade spirit on every enemy too and resist debuffs etc and everything just wilts before you.
bosses still need quite a bit of kiting but meh.
That’s the plan. I’ll keep the base Scarlet Marksman as my secondary because the -Res active can just be popped off on bosses and then immediately switch back to Gutripper. It lasts 8 seconds and I think would be more damage than any other option due to multiplying all your other Bleeds.
I didn’t realize that Gutripper’s proc was on ALL crits, though I should have. That’s… Really strong.
I haven’t tried to make a full vitality build, not even once, so won’t try to estimate it in one build with bleed, though it looks like spreading yourself too thin. Mobs with 100% base vitality resistance are chthonic leeches.
Regarding survivability, its good to have health regen or healing skills but they alone don’t cut it. If you want a healthy character it is more efficient to not take too much damage to begin with. Consider monster damage debuffs, block, evasion, fumbling, damage absorption, physical and other resistances and armor to be more valuable than healing. Crowd control for trash. Its usually some combination of these that works best, together with healing.
Blade arc was mostly used for direct damage in physical (mostly) crit builds thanks to crit multiplier in laceration. 2H if you want to spam it. Though it doesn’t seem to matter that much if you take clean sweep. That was before realisation that 500% bleed resist on undead and other things like that are bad for build diversity.
Sure, it can do some bleeding too, but its just one source, and maybe you need to find a few more among gear procs or other skills if you want to focus on bleed. Along with debuffs. You 100% need huntress for rend, and also either shaman with swarm or occultist with CoF.
