Pretty happy with Devotions, although disappointed I couldn’t get Manticore, but no way of factoring in devotions at that end of the spectrum when trying to allow for Tree of Life.
I guess Devotion choice comes down to your build and any supporting damage types, Rattosh isn’t great for me because I am Vitality/Chaos not Vitality/Aether, but for a Necromancer Rattosh is obviously a stronger choice.
Although, I think additionally to that point, if you’re only planning on doing a level 50 Normal build, then you’ll only get ~30 or so devotion points so many of these examples aren’t attainable without a massive amount of Crucible farming or playing to the start of Ultimate when you reach the Devotion point cap.
Most devotions give bonuses to at least 2 damage types to give you options. In this case, Rattosh is useful for both vitality and aether. Though lately, most aether builds focus on the top left part of the devotion tree and even take Dying God despite having no aether focus just for the increased crit damage
To give a different example, Widow is very common in lightning OR aether builds despite the lightning/aether split because of the RR. Rarely in practice do you see these 2 damage types used together.
Yeah it sucks when a devotion is split with a damage you don’t use because of the split stat budget compared to mono-damage devotions like Ulzuin and Ultos. But devotions like Ulzuin are actually rare when you look at the overall available devotions. You won’t find T3 devotions focused solely on chaos, aether, vitality and poison. Heck you can’t find a T1 or T2 devotion that focuses solely on chaos and aether too.
Yeah i see your point. I think if I was doing an offensive devotion I’d take both with manticore, but because of the relatively squishy nature of both classes I decided to go for scales, really obelisk and tree of life devotions to maintain 2700DA and 3200OA with decent health and armor.
