Doing ultimate right now, but it’s not easy to survive (health ~10k, dps ~33k). I still have devotion points to spend, but i dont know which way to go now.
I know oleron is a good constellation but kraken and tree of life are more
important to me.
I use a different class (warder), but I actually went for the RR on devotions : Assassin’s mark binded to Blade Arc and Huntress’ Rend on Blitz (I’m pretty stupid).
Not sure if certain skills are necessary (Counter Strike ?), maybe reduce a bit Squade Tactics and take Veterancy for more regen.
Also, Blindside on the Blitz skill is rather important to reduce ennemy’s DA.
I’m also a bit addicted to life steal and I don’t know if it can help you but I went with the Almighty Guillotine for that (and other few stuffs, like Thread of Mortality)
Maybe the Leviathan, it does a bit of cold damage, but tons of physical and internal trauma, plus a whooping 8% physical resist. But no life leech here.
Also a few epic you might find useful too, like the Golemfist Gavel or Farmstead Liberator. Better trying them out ^^.
I find that assigning the Maul to Blade Arc is probably the best devotion ability that you can get for this skill.
Since the best feature of Blade Arc is the mass knockdown chance, giving it an additional mass stun chance makes this default attack pretty multipurposed, since very few enemies are immune to both stun and knockdown. And since the Dire Bear devotion provides very relevant bonuses for a physical/trauma tank, it is all good.
Welcome to Grim Dawn.
Traditional melee builds have a hard time in a game infested with damage conversion and fancy damage types.
Hello, you should be using warcry in that build. Not only it debuffs monster damage, but also debuffs for physical. Also, put some points into Menhir’s will, it will serve you much better than dryad.
Why wouldn’t you get even more debuffs for physical in devotion through assasin’s blade? Bull is a dubious early devotion, replace that with panther, it has mana regen. If you’re even that far into order, better get Scales of Ulcama. Blade arc is very demanding on your mana, and scales have both regen nodes and mana leech proc. Viper also has some. Then there are huntress and harvestman’s scythe. A commando can’t really debuff for bleed, so you can get the scythe for even more mana/regen.
Blade arc was at some point popular in crit builds due to crit multiplier in laceration, but then crit was nerfed into oblivion and the skill lost much of its killing power. You can still do ~40-50K direct DPS like you intend, but to deal any good single target damage its not enough. One way to get better single target damage from it is to use DOTs, like this. That way you can also have 50K DOT on top of your direct damage and actually kill what is considered challenging, like nemeses, Rashalga etc.
One big downside of blade arc is trauma. Trauma is physical damage over time and is alot more dangerous than bleed when reflected.
