Not bad, but in my experience cost reduction is the least effective way to fix energy.
You are not addressing it, you are trying to “fix” it by dropping a devo that gives more %damage. It’s a bit constricting if you are forced into Harp/Scales every time on it.
Being forced is an argument I suppose although people use it every time Harp is suggested and as a consequence Harp is never used for this purpose. At this point it’s up to the designers whether they want for Harp’s Energy part to be needed in some builds at least or just a bonus and who knows 's ways which changes with his age and our nagging
Harp with newly added 6% Total Speed might be comfy / more warranted to use in Infiltrator which doesn’t have Squad Tactics for Casting Speed. I remember maxing Casting speed not being automatic at least in my setups.
Damage should be fine since it’s just 26% loss (Nadaan vs Harp + Lion + 9% from 2 Cunning point you don’t need to put into Spirit when you have 3700% damage or so and OA Harp’s proc should be decent increase in itself according to Crit Calc when you have 89% Crit on PBs, especially on Pierce which has 3 on Crit devos, even with such high OA already. And after this change
Inspiration: increased % Activation Chance to 30% and reduced Cooldown to 10s
. Losing % Damage to Humans for Fabius and Maiden is probably a better argument and the biggest loss which you should be able to feel // although Gnuffi’s setup below manages to retain this racial damage
I have thought Energy cost reduction is the best way to fix Energy in practice but perhaps I don’t remember all the possible solutions on the spot. While leveling various builds I’ve always felt stacking % Energy cost making a difference. In this case 10% gave is 17 per cast so 51 per second with 3 cast I suppose? But if you’re not feeling it during testing then that’s that. Maybe you’d like a more general buff that gives you Energy regen even if you’re not spamming PBs.
Great job man, I missed it.
// ofc I have BoW just lost the vs Humans node and that’s what you meant probably
yea/“full” indeed
other potential
thought panther crit might be overall better than racial on wraith? while its OA makes up for some of the loss from raven
but no Lion def/dmg bonus tho
juuust tossing out rando permutations, no clue if anything is actually “better”
*only thing that really makes me sad is, because of the need for flat RR, we can’t get Ulzaad, if scales wasn’t necessary you can get Ulzaad on top
I had Ulzaad years ago when I had an obsession to put on multiprojectile spells
Actually estimated that this freaking Bat had like 50% sustain on PBs themselves so not useless bonus actually. No Shadows though.
btw Scales + Harp was not enough to tank the old Ravager of Flesh so I had to fight the Souls one
i tried this Blademaster, Level 100 (GD 1.2.1.3) - Grim Dawn Build Calculator and mana felt fine aside from ofc flesh Ravager
Can’t say anything for dmg/speed comparison or if it’s good meta clear v +Nadaan devo, but atleast didn’t run out of mana in SR while “feeling fine” in my sense
*turns out didn’t need the speed from Azraka head, so could have done one of the greedier devo variants with hawk/panther/wraith/lion etc
Maybe it’s more damage in practice with RoS gloves since Scales only debuffs single target and needs to be procced by enemies themselves Probably not a setup for Infiltrator which has more buttons to press.
mostly because of the conversion
It’s the most effective way to fix energy because it’s one of the few stats with increasing returns. This mod reduces Aegis spam cost to zero. In this case if you have annihilation and Owl your skill cost is reduced by 75%.
Is it additive with general cast cost reduction?
I think it is. I remember doing smth like with with arcanist reduction as well. Barrels’ bombs can cost 0 energy with ulzuin, base -30%, annihilation and capped alacrity.
I have made quite a few dw Belgothian blademaster builds based on this forum, and they all definitely has the same issue, low HP.
any buff would be very appreciated tbh.
Share some videos from expert SR runners. All before the nerf of Chains of Anguish (% Crit damage had not been romoved)
RoS BM
GT
SR 30-31, no special levels, 3:10
MIs with right affixes are stronger. Like mad_lee’s version, two Servitor’s Slicer (one needs Tyrant’s) and Bloodbriar’s Thorn. MI chest and shoulder don’t have a significant advantage compared to Goredrinker, unless your have the top affixes (Infiltrator’s, Formidable, Of Wolf, Of Prowess). Then the Hulk/green behemoth version:
SR 30-31, 1 special level, 3.06
This video was posted earlier. Servitor’s Slicer had not been nerfed at that time (it was -0.6s cooldown). The nerf has a certain impact, but this build is still very strong. In this semi-spam version, RoS is much more destructive than Cadence, so Cadence is at the min level. Reaver’s Claw version needs to max Cadence level.
Pierce/Bleed Dervish
We/Chinese community believe that Brutallax Dervish is the real Master of Pierce and Bleed. Or we can also call it Axemaster, Brutallax-master.
GT
SR 30-31, no special levels, 2:58, and 10 consecutive runs with an average time of 3:32
GT: SR 36-37 version, higher Health, DA and leech
SR 36-37, no special levels ,4:48 (v1.2.1.5, not PTR)
SR 36-37, 3 consecutive runs, average time 5:35 (v1.2.1.5, not PTR)
Ravager of Minds, 0:48 (v1.2.1.5, not PTR)
Under mad_lee’s standards, survival may be insufficient/squishy. But its dps is far beyond most top 20 builds. High OA combines with high crit damage.
Your community loves Chains of Anguish and super high OA builds and then speed running high variance SR for some reason. Like in a way it’s a double casino: you rely on rolling a lot of crits and then on top of that on rolling favourable map layouts/boss combos. Which can be fun of course, but I never understood why you guys don’t try speed running Crucible Gladiator 150-170, without buffs if you want a bigger challenge for your build/piloting. It’s a much less randomized environment.
Nice build showcase, not sure why you posted it in Blademaster feedback thread
Stalwart & DA spam to secure safe survival regardless of time:
Cunning and OA spam to secure sub-3 minute SR runs and 00:30 superboss kills:
At least DA didn’t stack additional damage bonuses on top of super-high PTR where you’re doing more Crits and those Crits on average are doing more damage. How many more things must die to feed the gods of optimization?
A long-term habit. Or rather, a general community habit. Few of us play Crucible for a long time.
No particular meaning. I just like your title “Blademaster or Master of None?”
Pierce is the most common sect of BM. And you offen compared BM with Infiltrator, another Pierce class. Pierce/Bleed Dervish is also a Pierce AA build. It is similar to Belgo BM, Candence BM and Belgo Infiltrator.
You ought to give it a try. “Naked” Crucible Gladiator 150-170 with extra spawn is one of the most extreme challenges in terms of overall build power requirements and piloting. And timers you get in the end are much less random than the ones you get in SR (unless you use fixed layout, btw, do you guys still use that? If you do, can you share it, please).
True. If you take a pure Pierce AA build then Dervish will indeed be ahead of BM. I have done a version of it myself, it’s probably my favourite pure melee build. Here is how it performs agains Ravager, Callagadra and SR 30-31.
I cannot say everyone, but most of us not. You can see the consecutive runs videos, there are different/random maps, including good maps (finding Nemesis quickly) and bad maps (the Candle District map, or Nemesis not spawn).
I know one used it, but he has been AfK from Feb. Many of us are AfK and waiting for FoA.
