Does this require a specific difficulty to pull off? I’ve only gone through the expansion on normal so far and I can’t seem to get the item to appear. I put a timer on my phone and was in the circle for more than 15 seconds, only left before I would actually die and no dice.

It only works in ultimate difficulty, just like the 2 other secret quests in the main game and Ashes of Malmouth.

I see it on the map but found no detour in the Docks, Oasis or otherwise to get there.

Yeah, I like the area and the ‘realism’–if you want to call it that–but sure, the constant damage is annoying and you have to take a death if there are no mobs to kill (to activate lifesteal/heal on hit/that sort of stuff).

Since this will likely be the ~secret area~ thread, what item do you need for the Eldritch Altar?

If you mean the one in the Korvan Sands it’s a Celestial Essence.
