This may be a newbie question but I am very confused when it comes to spell damage and bonus damage. I have a conjurer with 101% bonus damage to vitality and 68% on bleed.
Now using Devouring Swarm I get bonus for vitality and bleed but for Wendigo Totem I get no vitality bonus. Similarly Bloody Pox gives me no bleed bonus.
I tested this on the training dummies. Can someone sort me out?
Devouring swarm reduces the enemies’ resistance to vitality and bleed dmg, so it will seem to benefit more from bonus dmg than other skills.
How, precisely, did you test this? Did you unequip your sources of bonus dmg and compared the dmg? Testing with training dummies can be tricky, try assigning the skill to your right mouse button and check the dmg breakdown in your character window, page II, top.
Btw, the real dmg bonus is your % dmg bonus on page II + % dmg bonus from physique/cunning/spirit.
This thread should probably go to gameplay discussion. The current section is more about what you think about the game.
Yes, this ended up at the wrong place. I just didn’t pay attention.
Anyway, I will have to try this on a clean char. There are so many different additions it is difficult to keep track of them. The spell tooltips do update with bonus increase but some spells give more damage than the tooltip and that was what confused me. It may be another effect kicking in. Well, maybe I shouldn’t try to understand everything
