Bug - game crashing on new game startup [0.7.4]

I can access the main menu + all settings, really gets me excited to play!

I hit new game, set up the game style/map size and watch the cinematic. The cinematic plays correctly and fully, it then gets to about 90% loaded and the game crashes and quits. Same every time.

I have tried the following to start up a new game to no avail:

  • uninstall/reinstall steam + FF
  • verify game files
  • toggle v sync
  • reduce refresh rate
  • start with small map size

How much space do you have left on your C drive?

I have 88GB of free space on the C drive

Hopefully it is generating a Crash Log. These can be found in:
C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\Temp

This folder may be set to hidden by default in your folder options, so make sure to enable hidden items. Inside this directory, you will find a folder called Crash_Date_Bunch of Numbers (ex. Crash_2022-08-02_171459771.

I found the crash log, but under a different location:

C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\Temp\CrateEntertainment\FarthestFrontier\Crashes
