The game runs slower and slower the larger the town gets / the more it advances.
The speed changes on its own. Literally I set the speed to 1/2 or 1 when traders come to town and then in the middle of looking at the trading, I notice the speed has jacked itself up to 3.
Setting maximum herd size no longer results in any changes. No cows are slaughtered and it keeps telling me I’m over my herd size. Telling it to specifically slaughter an animal also doesn’t work.
In the trading window, I can type in the number of things I want to sell, but not buy. The game simply won’t recognize the numbers I type in for buying.
A building can become condemned but I can’t destroy the building. I was able to destroy condemned buildings on another map I had started. I can’t on the current map I’m playing on. I’m not sure why they are becoming condemned anyway except that perhaps it is because they are not being repaired. I can’t repair them even though the game says I should be able to. (I noticed on other maps that buildings were being repaired on their own. But not on the current map I’m playing. There are plenty of materials for repairing them but they don’t get repaired.)
Also the game recommends selling cows when the herd gets too big. There is no way to do this that I see. Cows are not in the global inventory so you can transfer them to the trading post’s inventory. There doesn’t appear to be a way to transfer them anywhere but to other barns with the Divide Herd button. I also bought 2 cows and they were never transferred anywhere. I bought them, the $ was subtracted, but unlike the first time I bought cows, I didn’t get a pop up asking me where I wanted the cows sent.
So far I have noticed that the bigger the map gets, the more things stop working properly. I have, in the past, just started a new map. But I am really happy with my current map and don’t want to do that and lose all my progress. I don’t want to have to stop playing a map because of the slow performance and errors … would like to see my town continue to develop.
Oh and I just looked at my map… last night I quit the game and 3 houses in this one part of the map were just upgraded to Large Houses. Today I log in, and they are condemned…??
The game also just freezes from time to time. It’s become largely unplayable.
All kinds of errors in the logs like this one:
[WARNING] Internal: JobTempAlloc has allocations that are more than 4 frames old - this is not allowed and likely a leak
So I see that you request we put these in separate messages. Sorry I didn’t see that until after I wrote this. You also ask for a build number. I see a version number and a seed number, no build number. The version is 0.7.5f and the seed number is 25E4E965A66.
Given Nater’s comment and some other things I read recently, I would change the list to this:
The game runs slower and slower the larger the town gets / the more it advances. I see that you suggest wiping out all saves and using smaller maps but now I’m invested in this one map, so that advice is really disappointing to hear because I would like to see my town continue to develop rather than having to start over.
Setting maximum herd size no longer results in any changes. No cows are slaughtered and it keeps telling me I’m over my herd size. Telling it to specifically slaughter an animal also doesn’t work.

I saw this one was posted about recently: A building can become condemned but I can’t destroy the building. I was able to destroy condemned buildings on another map I had started. I bought them, the $ was subtracted, but unlike the first time I bought cows, I didn’t get a pop up asking me where I wanted the cows sent.
Houses have become condemned and it is unclear why they are condemned. I logged out and they were fine. I logged back in and they were condemned. And as I said above, there is no way to repair or destroy the house.
Yes there are leaks: [WARNING] Internal: JobTempAlloc has allocations that are more than 4 frames old - this is not allowed and likely a leak. But restarting the game does not resolve this. Saving a screenshot will not convey that the game is freezing and stuttering, since a screenshot is a static snapshot. I did run the dxdiag command and that file is attached.DxDiag.txt (87.4 KB)
Yeah, this sucks.
I don’t know how much people actually change the speed, but would love the trader screens to work, and I can just click the button for game speed. They don’t need to have a hot key in my opinion.
