Build 29: And Grim Dawn is Content Complete!

I love you guys! Merry Christmas!

The update is amazing. Gates of Necropolis are fantastic.

And stacking components? Hell yes! So happy right now

primal strike working wuth 2handed ranged weapons nice  (lethal gambit too  )

But does primal strike transmuter (thunderous strike) work with a crossbow/rifle so ?

Very intersited in rerolling my primal striker in ranged

Never thought I’d be happy to have had my gallbladder removed, but I now have a week to do nothing but play Grim Dawn and find all the new goodies! Haha. :stuck_out_tongue:

Have a lovely Christmas y’all!

You know, I said it on the Steam forums but it’s worth saying again here.

Best. Christmas. Present.

I’ve only sunk about 60 hours into it so far over the years (pretty much just the first act a few times with different characters) because I didn’t want to burn out on it before it was finished. Now I can play guilt-free! Good thing I don’t have to worry about family being around this holiday.

Great news! I was hoping for a release before Christmas and you guys did it. Have a great Xmas party and a happy new year.

So happy to see this! Also, to see alot of QoL stuff!

Happy Holidays!

Yay! Thank you, that’s quite the Christmas present. I’m looking forward to seeing the grand finale. It has been quite a ride from the very first release to Build 29, and I’m very glad I decided to back this game on Kickstarter. I can safely say that I got my money’s worth even before it was fully done

You guys have done an excellent job, and I hope you get to enjoy a bit of peace and quiet over the holidays. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to everyone at Crate, and thank you for an amazing game!

Getting rid of the completion bonus from todays standpoint is really ok now that we have devotion and the components (although i was against it a few builds ago).

BUT: The next logical step would be now to get also rid of the component completion and adjust droprates therefor!

The distrinction between stacked materials and components is quite bad now. I can only recommend to do that, because the value as a gameplay feature, having materials to complete them, is pretty pretty low now. Killing foes for only a few minutes to click a complete component button cannot be the justification to keep this system. This change would be not as hard to decide then it was by taking away the random bonuses in my oppinion. But maybe you, Crate, only wanted to chaNge things in a calmer way step by step. there would also be some adjustment neede for crafting. With stacked components -no problem!

Take this step further Crate and you do good with it!

Great job guys, can’t wait to delve into all the new content.

As for completion bonuses, I’m both happy and unhappy about the changes.
On one hand, it removes some farming incentive and a layer of customization ( grinding for THAT ONE completion bonus was something I enjoyed ).
On the other hand, my characters’ inventories aren’t cluttered by components anymore and I’ve saved a ton of space in my stashes.

I would have loved something in between, like allowing components to stack and then having something like a submenu to browse between the different completion bonuses available in the pile.

Oh well.

Santa just left a big CRATE full of goodies!..Sorry family, I won’t be here for Christmas!

Thanks Crate. Just discovering all the new little things.

Is 85 the final level cap? I’m guessing not but would like an official response if possible.

I’ll reserve judgement on completion bonuses lost once i test the extent of the component buffs. I have no problem with the removal if the components are still as powerful.

Thanks guys, this is freaking amazing !
Awesome christmas ! And congratulations for being so perfect, motivated, and for working so hard during all these years !

WE WILL HONOR YOUR WORK OF ART.

PS : About the completion bonus removed, was it really necessary to remove the completion bonus ? I think it just could have been the same bonus for a component type but we should be happy to get a component completed.

Well, I’ve lost about 18% DPS, but o well

Its mostly fine, but there’s really no way to get aether/chaos resists via components without also getting damage conversion, except sanctified bone.

I’ve lost 25% resists in each and I’m not getting those back easily unless I construct some gear with an editor or spend a good 5-6 hours spamming crafting. Neither of those is my idea of a good time.

Imo, Sanctified Bone needs to apply to more armor parts than chest - that’s all that really needs to change, as chaos/aether resists is also hard to get via devotion.

Mebbe make SB apply to chest/legs/(head/belt) and nerf or remove the extra damage to aetherials/chtonics.

So happy to be apart of this with you guys.

Ive been along this ride for over 2 years now and ive always paitently (impaitently) waited for every build to drop from you guys.

So excited for this game, the players and the team! Congrats!!!

Binding of Bysmiel

it’s a pasive skill? i cant found it on my action bar

Of course it’s the final cap. Unless they somehow change their mind between now and official release

Hopefully everyone at Crate can breath a sigh of relief and have one helluva Christmas Party! Thank you for building a game for the love of it. There is not enough of this left in the industry anymore.

Nice!

Three legendaries already - some time ring, some obsidian maul thing (with absolutely obscene damage) and some robes designed for a blackwater cocktail sorcerer…

Pets are significantly weaker in Elite than in Normal though :frowning: worried about their viability on Ultimate now…

Overall, awesome job to crate though!

Started fresh, too much polish.:frowning:

Nahhh!

It is awesome to have the full game in my hands after those exciting years, and I am very happy for you guys @Crate. You made it! And not barely or just made it, you fully represented… and then some more.

Congratulations, my best wishes to you and your families, and to each and every one of the forumites! It’s been mighty fun!
