Build feeling inadequate on Ultimate

Skills: http://grimcalc.com/build/NzVkaw

Character sheet:

This guy has been having problems in ultimate, but the last straw was when I had to restart the game after running into a regenerator hero because I literally couldn’t damage it/nearby enemies faster than it regenerated. Is there anything obviously wrong with him that I’m not seeing?

  1. change raven to hawk.

  2. u only need 1 point in wind devil skill itself. get elemental balance/overload instead.

  3. get arcane bomb, use chains of oleron in chest, get ur OA higher.

  4. stormcallers pact > starpact, u dont need cdr or cold dmg.

change weapon component. focus lightning, not cold.

more oa… deargod more oa.

IMHO damage wise, you need to choose cold or lightning and run with it. Don’t try to mix the two. Lightning would probably be a better idea for a melee druid.

You need a lot more resist reduction to do more damage too. At the moment you’re getting 20% from Viper which isn’t much.

Also keep in mind that Primal Strike counts like a melee spell. It does not proc any default attack type things.

If I were you I would go for something along these lines (assuming you’re playing softcore):

EDIT: Lightning totem vs wind devil you will have to experiment with. Maybe it’s beneficial to keep both or just one.

Also Jajaja makes good points. I’m surprised he didn’t suggest Agrivix relic though :stuck_out_tongue:

Everything jajaja said, arcane bomb is the widow devo straight up from the middle. Dump raven for hawk, points from winter spirit+turtle shoudl be used for widow. Note that turtle is not nearly as good as it sounds, the 2700 damage is before resistances so it’s in actuality shielding very little. Can take the 1 5% yellow health node in the middle to keep enough yellow for scales. I’m tired AF but that should leave you 3 point to throw into behemoth for more heals

12 points in Iskandra’s EE not needed. With those points + the all but one oyu remove from the base wind devil skill (we really only want it for the resist reduction) fill out the rest of the Iskandra line and get some points into wendigo totem for heals

Once you get that shit switched around and devos leveled up you’ll be doing way more damage and have a lot more survivability

edit: work on getting revered with groups and getting augments too. Not sure what your gear is exactly, but shouldn’t really need two rune stones to max out your elemental resists and the +10% ele damage is like literally nothing in the late game

thats alot of green items lol must be op

Thanks for the help guys, I thought Widow was a purely Aether-based constellation and didn’t know Arcane Bomb lowered lightning resist. One thing though; I can’t spec out of Raven without losing access to the Kraken, and I"m not willing to give that up.

To be honest though, I might just start a new character. He was supposed to be a cold/lightning hybrid, but the game really seems to block you from mixing those two damage types for some reason. He’s doing better now that I took some of your advice but he’s so divorced from my original concept that he just isn’t fun to play anymore.

nightblade/shaman might be able to mix those 2, but i dont think its ever gonna be really strong

cold/lightning can work as a caster, but as a melee there is zero support for this sorry friend ;(

Change your build to look like this and you will not have a single problem… let alone you’ll find your self impossible to be killed.

I think I managed to salvage him. I went back into Flash Freeze for crowd control and for the cold visuals, switched from Star Pact to Stormcaller’s, and specced into the Widow for Arcane Bomb. It’s actually working fairly well, it fits the theme I’m going for and kills at an acceptable rate. Packs of heroes are still a nightmare, and I don’t even want to think about Bastion of Chaos, but I should be good for now.

Melee perhaps but i think that a caster druid works nice with cold+lightning. Trozan’s Shard, OFF, Wind Devil … maybe storm totem too.

Granted, i haven’t gone to ultimate yet so i might be talking nonsense.
