Firstly, I love the game and look forward to seeing where it goes.
Roads at the moment can be made to look super natural with flowing curves and even circles. This gives the villages a natural, warm, and inviting feel. It would be great to be able to build walls in the same way so that they are not purely orthogonal but can follow similar curved routes.
Changing the towers from a square tower to a round tower may help prevent possible issues with the meshes not aligning correctly.
On the topic of roads. Currently there is a need to sometimes place temporary structures or build a temporary road at the destination to get roads to align to a desired curve. If there was a way to manipulate the direction of the road when it finishes or to manually ‘pull’ it into a specific position this would make the process more straightforward.
Other ideas:
- Mentioned recently in another topic. Could we please get a prioritise button in the existing wall tool?
- Build walls to run along an existing road or vise versa. Maybe the scroll wheel could be used to adjust the distance between the two.
- Manually select where to put towers along the length of the wall. These could just be decorative or enable guards to shoot out of them.
- Upgrade walls to an even stronger version. Late game it is pretty much necessary to have two walls when you have large armies with siege weapons.
- Placing buildings at odd angles. Perhaps by allowing the player to increment the rotation by 15 degrees rather than 90.
- When using the terrain flatten tool it currently prevents activation if pulled too big making it necessary to carefully position the cursor at the max 12x12 size. A better way might be to allow clicking when the cursor is outside the maximum area but this would just place the terrain flattening at that biggest area.
